I need help selling course online

Hi
My name is Kathy & I am a stress consultant.

I work with a wide range of people offline so I decided to write a Personal Development and Stress Management Course to help people online as well.

The problem is I am not very good at marketing and getting traffic so I am reaching out for some help to see if anyone would be kind enough to take me under their wing and show me how to sell my course online properly.

I have to let you know now, I do not have much budget at all but would be happy exchange time if I could be of any help to you.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and hope there is someone out there who can help me.

Kathy

Sell your course at skillshare. If you're lucky you will only spend $1 to make money from their platform. They are giving cash bonus as well right now. It's good for you to use the bonus for your course marketing and bring more premium students (which hopefully bring you more profit). You can join with me if you need more help. Thanks & good luck!

    Hi Kathy,

Speaking as someone with a family member who suffers from intense stress-related issues, I must say that you work in a very worthwhile field. These issues often fail to get the attention and respect they deserve, when compared to many physical ailments, yet the people who suffer from them are no less unwell or deserving than often the worst physical ailments. I'm an incredibly laid-back chap, practically horizontal most times, but even I had a bout of stress issues a few years back. I'd had my appendix out and suffered from my throat closing up (infection from the anaesthetic tube thingamajig) to the point of near suffocation. After living with a suffocation phobia for around a year, I was diagnosed with PTSD, and (lucky for me) cured in around a month. It was no picnic. The mere thought of my throat closing was enough to make it feel like it was closing, and actually make it close somewhat (I think). Horrendous. Anyway - point is, I believe you're not only in a good field, a worthwhile field, but also an ideal one for the digital entrepreneur - because some people really do need your help.

Okay. Marketing. The best way I can help here is to give you advice on how to find your marketing route. I write quite a bit on the forum here, and my thoughts on marketing are available for anyone to read, but let me try to help with a specific route for you. You need to start out by reverse-engineering your competition. Trust me, you'll receive more information by doing that one thing than most paid eBooks on the planet. Plop relevant websites into SimilarWeb.com and focus your attention, as you browse down the page, on where their traffic originates. The locations you see, in the free version of SW, will of course be the very best locations for you to head yourself.

However. I rarely encounter a single website, or marketer for that matter, who is taking advantage of every possible GOOD means of generating awareness online. So. That being said, you won't find all of the answers from SW. Not to worry, though: I'll give you many of them here. No matter where you sell your product, you need to grow your business for that product on your OWN property. A model that should work well for you is this: Splash page (newsletter optin form) that takes subscribers through a sales funnel. (If any terms confuse you, I'd just Google them or WF them.) However, give visitors an option to visit your blog on that splash page, too.

Above is a nice, solid, tried and tested setup for this type of business, but now you need targeted and consistent traffic - and in volume.

    - Youtube
    - Dailymotion
    - Niche Forums
    - Socials
    - White Hat blog commenting
    - Guest blogging
    - JVs

It's quite a big subject, as you can appreciate, but the above will be a nice springboard for further research. You have a great business, by the sounds of it. All the best with it!

      Hi Tom

Thanks for your kind words. I am glad you are now feeling better, I once choked so I understand how frightening it is when you can not breathe. It must have been very hard for you at the time and you were so lucky to be cured so quickly.

Stress is real and lots of people just do not understand what it is & how to manage it. I am sure I will be able to help people with this course. I started studying it 17 years ago when I lost my parents which was, a very stressful time in my life as lots of other things were going on as well and I know what intense stress feels like so this is why I wrote the course to help others learn to cope with stress.

Thank you so much for your ideas I will visit SimilarWeb.com , quite a lot for me to understand but I will plod through

      Kind regards

      Kathy

If you aren't accustomed to selling/launching/marketing online...I'd highly recommend you spend $10 at Amazon for Jeff Walker's "Product Launch Formula" (price is for the Kindle version).

You will learn a LOT very quickly (price is the Kindle version) - great way (and quick) to learn the foundation of online sales for a new product.

It will give you a better foundation for choosing what to pay for and what to do yourself.

    Hi Kathy,

Thank you for your work. I believe that in this day and age, we need stress management consultants like you. This will certainly help people learn new coping mechanisms when they encounter difficult situations.

Online marketing is not an easy feat. It will take hard work and some time for you to gain the solid following that you need or want. And this may not instantly translate to sales. However, if you work at it, you will reach your goal. I encourage you to personally oversee your online marketing campaign -- you're the expert in personality development and stress management, so you can better answer your potential clients' questions.

Have you tried using social media? Regularly posting quality and relevant content will let people see that you are a legitimate business and that you know what you are talking about. Online visibility is a must! Nowadays, people rely on social media for news, trends, advise, and so forth.

I hope this helps. Again, thank you for doing what you do. More power to you!

    Best regards,
    Desiree

Could you please to use the Affiliate marketing? In the affiliate marketing site, there are many affiliate marketers are available there. Just make the posting in these site. You will get application then the affiliate marketer will get unique code, then the affiliate marketer will make post the unique code in different place. Then if one visitor will buy any products the affiliate marketer will get a commission from a successful sale. Thanks a lot.

Hi Kathy, you probably even find that you have a market in your current customers you see face to face. I know with the field you're in if I were your client I'd seriously consider paying to have an ongoing online way to get information and help outside of personal visits. Plus these customers could also prove excellent referral partners.

You could almost say that your current customer base is your mailing list, and as they say, the money is in the list!

Kathy your topic is definitely quiet attractive and has a real business potential. In my personal opinion you should go for Udemy,Educadium and Litmos.

I'd also recommend a site like Skillshare or Udemy for someone just starting out, simply because with these platforms, people will still be able to find your courses and you can potentially make some sales that way. Plus, they take care of some of the technical aspects like hosting and controlling access to the materials that you'd have to do yourself otherwise.

If your course is really good, you might also want to consider reaching out to bloggers or journalists who write about topics like stress, stress management. Think about how you could offer expert advice or tips to their readers and pitch them on an article.

A great place to sell your courses online is a website called Udemy. They have millions of students and a great platform for uploading and promoting your course. Just be sure to implement SEO in your course to help with ranking it in the search engines.

These are great places to start with. Don't forget about offline or semi-offline traffic sources like placing articles in ezines/newsletters, print newspapers and magazines, or syndicating them on niche portals. One way to do this without dedicating your life to it is to create a general article, then customize it for different niche markets. For example, suppose you have a general article on "Five Quick Ways to Sidetrack Stress Attacks" (just made that up, you're the expert). Such an article might go well in a daily or weekly newspaper. Change it to "Five Quick Ways for New Mothers to Sidetrack Stress Attacks" and you open up publications that focus on new mothers.

Since there's an almost never ending demand for content, you should never run out of possible outlets. You'd be surprised how many editors scan news and blog feeds for stories.

Another suggestion would be to register with sites like Help a Reporter Out and contribute to the stories journalists need an expert's help with.

    I strongly second this.

If memory serves, Walker does a relaunch for his PLF course about this time of year. While the course itself is a bit pricey for most beginners, you can learn a lot by signing up for the prelaunch, watching the videos, and saving/studying the accompanying emails.

What I would do is set up a campaign say in Microsoft and send some targeted PPC traffic. What you want to do at this point is optimize and see what your numbers do so then you can start to improve those numbers.

Be careful where you get your traffic from and always start small and make sure your converting first then by all means scale...
