How Are You Writing Your Internet Sales Pages?

So are you writing Internet Sales Pages that actually SALE? Here are few things I learned over the years that worked for me.

Create Effective Headline Grabbers

The first basic element of an effective Internet marketing (IM) sales page is the headline. Just like a newspaper sells based on the front-page headlines, your IM sales page is going to get viewers on the basis of the main headline. Thus, you have to be sure to make this as persuasive as possible while listing in one sentence the single biggest benefit your product or service has to offer to the potential customer.

Choose Your Font Size Wisely

Whatever your headline, you want it to be written in the biggest font found anywhere on the sales page. That means that it is meant to grab attention, and using the size of the font this way really sets it apart. Don't be too creative on the font type, as you want to make it very easy to read; however, be very careful to make it the biggest text on the page, as that does matter.

Always Use Trigger Phrases

There are numerous psychological triggers that will produce an immediate reaction with your audience. You should study these triggers, understand the demographic you are marketing to, and then choose one that is more apt to appeal to your market segment. For instance, say you are selling a product that could have many competitors in the market. So, you want to make sure that whomever lands on your sales page that they order from you, rather than taking the time to scope out the competitors and compare offers.

You find that your demographic consists of business people who are used to deadlines and want to get a good deal. So, you implement a time limited offer to trigger buying behavior now and make it uncomfortable for them to take the time to look elsewhere for fear of losing out on a great deal.

In that case, you list your biggest benefit, but you also make it clear that the offer is only available for the next 12 hours or until the product is sold out.

Please do also share you experience as well.

    Great tips.

To add to your list, it also helps to REVERSE ENGINEER your top competitors.

Look for the top sellers in your niche and study what they have IN COMMON

Come up with your own spin and keep making small variations until you get the conversion rate you want.

I'd add.. use the headline to qualify to your audience.. and while grabbing attention, it also has to tickle their curiosity to make them read the rest.

And I'd also include storytelling on the list.. powerful on it own, dynamite when used to build rapport.

Since you are using storytelling I imagine that you are also making videos for your sales pages is that correct?

Yes, on some but not all.

Stories don't have to be long.

My favorite tip: Only hire good copywriters. Is that cheating?

Yep that works as well! It is also a sure fire way to short cut your way to success! Just gets a little expensive after a while.

listen, you most definitely make valid points, and you provide good tips...

...but dont over think it.. This is one of the reasons why nobody acts..

You got your average IMer who understands there are many pieces to the puzzle (like a sales page), each piece has it's obstacles....

the average IMer should create 2 sales pages and test them against each other[ (split test)... the best converting one is kept and another sales page is created....

repeat the process, over and over again, until you're left with a battle-hardened sales page that converts like a savage.

Build a "headline" swipe file. If its compelling to me, then its compelling to people like me. Never start with a blank page again. If you write much, you know how valuable that is.

I think its already been stated a couple different ways in the comments above, just mimic successful sales pages as a starting point and always split test. Its always amazing to me how even tiny details impact conversions, and so often the one you think will be better, isn't.

Um..not sure you can. Probably the most written about subject on planet earth in one shade or another. But the most effective use of triggers comes from this key point: Knowing Your Avatar. The more you can identify/define (accurately) this person, the easier it is to know their hopes/dreams and problems/fears.

Copy writing is so incredibly important. And its just as much a science as it is an art. So either plan to become a lifelong student, learning as you go, or outsource But whatever you do....

Again, couldn't agree with you more here...

to KNOW your avatar/audience you need to SURVEY THEM...

The best place to put your survey is on the thank you page....

...yea yea,,, you lose money but you get precious insight into your future buyers..

I use free and easy to create surveys with google forms:

          https://www.google.com/forms/about/

i also ask opened ended questions and try not to lead the question, you dont want to corrupt the data....

I try to get a sample size of 200 answers... if you're worried about the loss of OTO money then put your thank u page on a rotator..

    Yokolo.. OP.. dude...

Thanks for these tips on writing Internet sales pages that actually SALE (sic)!

But I was on your sales page..

..you know the one that promises the price is gonna increase when the time runs out?

well.. the timer ran down to zero.. and the price didn't increase..

Do you recommend using false scarcity like this?

I'm on tenterhooks, listening with bated breath for you to fart out another dose of pungent copywriting magic*

    *you may not quote me.
