How To Jazz Up Your E-Book Design & Layout

Hi, I want to jazz up my e-books and give them a more eye-catching layout and design. Does anyone know of templates that you can use, maybe that you can import into Microsoft Word, that allow you to create cooler layouts?

For example, if I wanted to make the pages of my e-book look like actual book pages...with some slight grain, wrinkles, etc...

I know that Pages is a good program for the Mac, but all of their standard templates are for resumes, newsletters, etc. I want to lay out an entire book by popping it into a cool template. Any suggestions?

1) Hire a freelancer and get some new ecover and a unique landing page design.
2) Edit your ebook in some doc editor and reformat it

There are lots of templates available in MS Office Live or simply use a background in your pages

I totally agree with abhi1.

Use a background in your pages with MS Word and others.

You can also have a freelancer design the doc template for you.

And you can jazz up your ebook with an ecover.

You can try a freelancer who knows how to use InDesign. Better yet if he also has knowledge of Photoshop so he can combine both softwares to make a really nice ebook

Thanks for the feedback. I already have the e-cover, I just want to make the layout more professional-looking so my e-books don't just look like basic PDFs. There must be software designed to do this that is specifically for e-books...

Keep in mind anything you do to the background will eat up your customers ink if they want to print it out unless they turn off background printing and a lot of people don't know they have that option.

Good Point By Jim Above.

Maybe you should offer a printable plain version alongside the good looking one.
I personally use Microsoft Publisher to Create Good Designs and Layouts since I already am a designer.
