5 Top ways to Market when you are Broke

Hi,
I thought I will share some of the top ways to market your business when you are broke or have very limited funds.

1) Forums
I know a lot of people may frown upon this but it still remains one of the top ways to market your business especially when you have no money or limited funds. Just go to Google type in your niche + forums so it should look like this "hair loss + forums" and go to Google Search Tools and hit "Past 24 hours" so you can catch the most active forums on your subject, some of these forums should allow you to create signatures where you can leave a link back to your website.

2) YouTube
YouTube is 2nd largest search engine in the world! Videos are quickly overtaking all other forms of communication. By building a YouTube channel where you are the one talking about your business people get to know you a lot better and people are more comfortable buying products and services from people they know, and of course YouTube is FREE!

3) Social Networks
Facebook and Twitter still remain one of the most popular social networks out there to market your business, it takes time and constantly releasing content to build up your audience but it is FREE. Just make sure you are not spamming your links where they do not belong.

4) Writing articles and submitting them to syndication sites
This method was huge a few years back until Google came and started penalizing sites. However, we are doing this to build an audience going back to our site for free we are not focusing on SEO. If you are focusing on SEO do not use this method as it will not do you any good because Google no longer like these kinds of sites.

5) Guest Blogging
This method still works very well for building an audience for your business for free granted Google tends not to like this so do not use this method for SEO purposes, most blogs nowadays only allow links to be "no follow" on their websites anyway so if you are trying to rank using this method do not bother. In order to find places where you can be a Guest Blogger just type into Google "your niche + blog" and use Google search tools "Past 24 Hours" this will find the bloggers who are active and are probably receiving 100's of views to their website.

So that is it! If you know any other ways please do share.

Thanks for these essential points; you just prove that you can do a lot even if you're broke! As long as you market well and do things right, all good things will follow.

If you are broke then you can not afford, Hosting, Domain, Autoresponder, essential tools for running your business. As well, if you are broke then you are, or should be, trying to make some money to keep a roof over your head and food in your stomach.

So, basically this is pretty much useless information

      Got to disgaree there

hosting - many free hosts and/or cloud services with a free tier
domains - some tlds go on sale for 88 cents at times
autoresponder - sorry not absolutely necessary for many businesses.

There are some totally worthless threads but this is not one of them

Everything listed is top notch advice. Anything you could do for marketing yourself is a service you could offer others for cash. You might as well learn and get paid for doing.

I'll say it again, ANYTHING you might do for yourself is something you could do for others on freelancer.com or fiver. I used to sell advice on freelancer.com. Likely you have at least one skill to sell to 10 or 100 or 1000 people.

Brick and Mortar owners often will just need another opinion on keyword research to check on their primary website builders. 1000's have been duped into buying a "pretty" website that doesn't work for squat.

4/5 isn't bad. Better than you've been doing.

#4, submitting articles to syndication sites, at least the type of site most here would think of, is a waste of time. These sites don't show up in searches, and people don't think to themselves, "I'm going to this article dump and look for the answer to my problem."

That said, the idea of syndicating content can still be worthwhile if you think in terms of eyeballs on a website. Google has most operators of worthy sites so scared of having duplicate content that they insist on original articles. And the auto-approve sites can do you more harm than good.

Off-web outlets, like ezines, newsletters and even print outlets have no fear of duplicate content and an insatiable need for more content. Using a combination of sites like Directory of Ezines (disclaimer: I'm a life member) and references like Writer's Market or the Directory of Associations should give you enough potential syndication partners to last a lifetime.

      Well, he is mentioned here
a lot of good things that
can help you promote your online
      business, without relying on
      just traffic..

One thing I disagree and it is the
      headline.

      Because it's not
      only for broke.

      And if you are broke
      in my opinion you should
      begin with working online
      on freelance and fiverr etc..
      etc..

      and combine these
      by promoting yourself
      and building your business
      in that way.

Of course there, is a lot more
      To it.

      But it's a good start.

    Hi Tico,

All are super helpful for blogging on a budget.

1 add: if you are REALLY struggling financially do something part time - stock shelves, whatever - to make the $300 or so to buy a domain and hosting.

You will make those strategies noted work SO much better when you funnel visitors into a self-hosted, Wordpress blog.

Here's my thinking (and it's how almost all folks online think): if I read an awesome post from someone here on Warrior, or on FB, or thru any channel you mentioned, and I click thru to find a Blogger blog or, no blog at all, I close the page out immediately.

Disconnect time: I love the initial value marketed but figure they are not serious bloggers if they aren't paying for a domain and hosting. So the marketing efforts go for naught, and time is wasted.

Buy the domain and hosting guys. It is THE way to work your way up in the world, especially blogging-wise, because it is a trust builder second to none when it comes to establishing your credibility.

Then when you have it your free marketing methods will pay monstrous returns.

Take it from a guy who's spent very, very little on paid marketing methods over the years.

    Happy Marketing

    you guys are off topic

    marketing when broke, you say.....

    6. Reporter Feeding -
get quoted and linked to by feeding content hungry reporters, find them here:
    https://www.helpareporter.com/

    http://www.sourcebottle.com/

    7. Share Tribes - have others share your content, you can do that here:
Viral Content Buzz | Social Media Sharing Made Easy

SUPER IMPORTANT NOTE! never share videos on share tribes because your attention rate will drop along with your YT rankings. Just share posts and images on share tribes...

    8. No Follow Target Blank Outlinks - dont be afraid to outlink to credible sources and dont be afraid to ask them to share your post, its a win/win.

Attach this beauty to the outlink target=”_blank” so that your visitor stays on your site and your site passes no authority on to the outlink's destination.

poor broke marketing at it's finest!

you have yourself a great day,

I do a pretty good job marketing my e-books using Twitter, Instagram, and a Facebook fan page, which are all integrated with each other. I do also have a website, which costs money for domain renewals and hosting. But the social media promotions are free. You've just got to build up your followers by being interactive with other users on those sites.

Hi guy! thank for this sharing. But I think the fourth is nonsense, don't waste of your time with this.
Why don't you add SEO on the list? SEO is one of the best ways with low cost that should not ignore.

Yes, this was a big method a few years ago that worked well. But, Google changed things, as it tends to do quite often, and those sites haven't been effective in a while. I closed all my accounts at them about five years ago, and haven't needed them since then. I wouldn't recommend anyone use them to market anything now.

    Ike, the
    Code:
    rel="nofollow"
tag has nothing to do with keeping people on your page. The
    Code:
    targe t ="_blank"
    is enough.

That nofollow tag is what the MOZblog recently described as "an, old, old, old, old school technique for preserving PageRank."

Edit: It looks like the forum software adds
    Code:
    rel="nofollow"
to the target tag automatically. The point is still valid.

These are some really good ways to get traffic if you don't have the money when you're just starting out. Time is the only requirement that you will need to set these up.

Most people will fail when trying to use these places because they don't want to invest the time needed to make them work.

Another important ingredient to making these work is "value". You've got to give your audience value so they'll keep coming back for more.

The number one rule to making money online is "give more value and you will make more money".

This is the number one rule I've learned to really making things work online.

Thank you for listing these places they are truly goldmines online if you one knows how to utilize them effectively.

I really like youtube! It's free to join and as long as you provide great content on videos - i'm not talking of a multibillion quality on you videos, just a straight to the point video where your video lives up the title you put - the people will love it and comeback to it passively!

Ike, if I had to guess, it's a response to all the would-be link droppers with, shall we say, questionable sites.

Google (and others) may not penalize you for who links to you, but they definitely react to who you choose to link to. If I had a busy forum, I'd do the same thing.
