I have an interest to start a drop shipping business. What are good website creators that I can use. Free ones would be great. Any other advice on drop shipping would be helpful. This is just my first step.

Can't advise you on website creators, had mine custom built.

Starting over I'd probably use Wordpress with WooCommerce.

But I can tell you to be careful where / who you buy your dropship lists from, a lot of them are out of date.. and check wholesaler reviews before handing over your cash.

      BAM there you go!

That's what I did for years drop shipping diaper cakes..

I hate that business model, getting hate emails from angry customers because their product didn't arrive on time...

and its all out of my hands,,,

make sure your source is super reliable....

      best of luck,

Find products before you start doing anything major. That's the hardest part, finding products that 1,000s of other people aren't constantly trying to fight to the bottom for margins. Dropshipping is great, but only if you have unique products or deals that's ensure you won't be making almost zero profit.

I'd build it on Wordpress/woocommerce initially if you're not looking to spend money.

I disagree. As a beginner, you won't be selling unique products anyway. You neither have the connections nor the experience to source very unique or "unsaturated" products before others. Anything you see on Alibaba and so on basically sells all over the web already. Of course there are more and less competitive fields, since basically anyone tries selling jewelery and clothes.

The key point is the right marketing strategy. Why choose your product, even though others might be similar? What can be a good target audience for you? What are good traffic sources for your specific needs?

All this is a lot harder with completely genuine and non-branded products, since you have harder times telling people "your story" and especially gain recurring customers.

But if you want to start a store, please target a specific niche and don't go with clothing, jewelery, general gaming electronics and stuff like that, especially on low budget. I even saw people combining all of this in one shop for no reasons.

Well, actually sounds like you mostly agree. You don't need connections, nor experience to source unique or saturated products. You need an email address and/or phone to contact businesses. It's not very complex to find products. In the long run, that will be much more profitable that generic products that are being sold all over the internet if marketed properly.

Probably the most popular plugin if you are going to use WP for you site is Woocommerce. It has a lot of fans and a number of free and paid themes.. Easy Digital Downloads is great for digital products.

Then there's Shopify which I don't have a lot of experience with but seems to be all the rage with free and paid themes (both WP & html) as well as an ark load of apps to streamline your business.

Still, you may want to start out on Ebay and see how it goes before you invest a lot of time and effort in building a website. You don't need to be a phenomenal success, but you'll certainly get an idea of what kind of potential building a dropship business with website could have.

Start of on Ebay/Amazon and drop ship from Aliexpress until you've got enough experience to start your own website. Drop shipping is quite easy but you need to experience what it's like before making your own drop shipping website imo

You can start with ebay. Start selling low cost items with high quality to build your reputation up to powerseller then contact dropshipping companies and make a good deal with them.

Why do you want to operate a low profit margin business where you are at the mercy of wholesalers who can wreck your business for you?

If you can find a few hundred dollars for inventory, you can buy small quantities direct from factories, not only in China but in other countries. Starting with a small amount of capital is a slow process, but it is possible to build a good income business.

I have taught hundreds how to safely source products overseas. Many have used my methods to locate unique products rather than the ones that @Splatterfox warns about that everyone sells.

The WordPress and Woocommerce combination is just what you need and it's very easy to use. Both are completely free but I would recommend you pay for a top-level domain name.

I think this is not a problem about website platform, that's about how to drive buyer and how to find & control the product source, we need to make sure the products will always available and the delivery service is always on time although we don't work with them directly. Just though so.

The most likely place you will hear good things about Aliexpress as a place to go for dropship suppliers will be place where people are advertising their course or apps to teach you how to do it.

Just search the forum and you'll find plenty of people saying that it is a bad idea. You won't have to go far, just read this thread from the beginning.

As a better alternative to the bad "dropship from Aliexpress" idea, see post #13 above.
