Didn't have an answer

I saw something interesting on another forum that I didn't have any kind of answer for here it is.

The person asking the question said he was running a campaign for a click bank product that had what he said pretty good gravity. He said he was sending what he said very targeted traffic and sent over 500 clicks to the sellers site he wasn't collecting e-mails but didn't say why.

Anyhow he was wondering with the normal conversion rate of 2 to 5% shouldn't he have made at least one sale. He was asking how does he figure out if it was his pre selling which is what he has read to do or the site he is sending to not doing it's job for the lack of conversions.

I will have to admit I have never seen this kind of question asked before and is beyond my knowledge to answer something like that. Not just because I just don't know but how can someone answer a question like this without seeing all his information.

    My gut feeling is that he isn't sending traffic that's qualified to make a purchase. I can send fitness traffic all day long to offers, however, if that traffic wasn't pre-sold on the product and making a purchase, then the conversion will be low or not at all. If he's not collecting emails, then that leaves me to believe that he's either not pre-selling the traffic on the product, or he's not doing it well enough. How is he "pre selling which is what he has read to do" without a list or email marketing?

    i'd conclude that the traffic is junk

    or that the traffic is unrelated...

    again, assuming that the product has a high gravity and a normal conversion rate.

    "pretty good gravity" doesn't mean anything. Low or high gravity does not mean anything as far as how you (or your friend) will convert traffic.

    There are too many unknowns to comment on other aspects that could affect the zero conversions.
