      I'm supposing that the men in an era in which it was customary to sit and watch women get off stages to get a glimpse of their ankles didn't have the same standards we do today.........
      one more lesson in marketing...make sure your ads aren't going to go out of date so fast you'll be forever revising them. LOL.
