How to get passive stream clients for web design work

Hi, I have knowledge about website designing however not a compelete expert. But I could manage any designing work thorugh association I have with the online virtual team of skilled designers.

But I am just stuck in how to get the passive stream clients for the designing work i.e on going or on regular basis clients for the designing work.

Any ideas on how to get clients for designing work? I am located in India so targeting local would be difficult as there isn't much awareness here.

I am bit hesitant to go for phone call, so would be more willing to try other than phone call method.

Any inputs would be helpful.

    There are platforms / networks where people who want services like what you offer go to get service providers. Two such sites are 'fiverr' and 'Upwork'. I think they are free to join.

      Thanks, I have an idea about Fiverr but in recent times it is very hard to get into fiverr and get ordres as there is been reallly many changes in Fiverr. As regards upwork, I have registered in Freelancer.com but never end up with any clients how hard I try to bid. So I am not sure if bidding is a real solution for me.

        How much information are you putting in your bids?

        Typically my first cut when I hire on up work is those who provide little to no information

        Next i cut those who seem like thry did not read my post but gave a generic response

        Then next cut i make is those who didnt answer my questions

        Finally I cut those who don't respond to my messages within 24 hours

        And typically the person who responds the quickest to my messages and seems the most knowlageful about what i am trying to do gets the job.

        Hope this helps with your bidding efforts.

        you know where your future clients are! Build up your profiles on both those sites and get to work..

    Drop 'passive' from your vocabulary, and you'll have an easier time. Promise.

    Find a group / niche of businesses that you know could use your services, then figure out how to target them with FB ads. You can get leads for $1 or less.

    When all else fails, work on contract for free up front, payment upon completion and acceptance, get a few sites in your portfolio, then use that to get referrals to other business owners.

    Nothing 'passive' about building a business, or making money.

      I do have some portfolio build up and even tried to get references but there isnt much except few. With the existing portoflio and work I have done I want to build some solid business through targetting clients and getting more clients.

    Why not start your own newsletter that teaches people how to do some of the design work themselves? This will attract people who need your services and you can get them to either join a membership site or become clients once they see what you can do?

      Thanks, good suggestion. Newselleter is something blog if I am write, I do have the blog but really dont write much, I have to hire some writer to get this done let me try this anyway.

    There are tons of them, look them up.
    I outsource several things with Fiverr for simple tasks so that would be perfect to get started for you if you are not an expert.

    You can offer a variety of specific services that you know you can complete successfully.
