My head is going to exposed, What should i do first

Dear warriors!

I am new on board to handle an online store. Since, the last guy left so rush everything isn't completed.

here's the state:
Website 's just launch 2 month. content are all copied, the product listed over 300, all of them dont have enough basic information like: weight, size, only price and photo, (three language), I have counted my speed of completing a 1 listing atlest spend 25-30mins ,some may take a hour. my boss complaint it take too long.

daily traffic around 40 to 200(if we have FB campaign) , we have another guy focus on social media, and i can use his materials .and, thats would be good for me.

My boss came to me this morning tell me to make sells, because FB already drive traffic.

I am not sure what should i do first.

1. rewrite all the policy? ( i can hire someone to do this quick from my own pocket)
2. optimize products page , 300 listings , if too focus on optimize listing ,i definately no time to do other thing, I think i should only pick few of potential products to optimized it.
3. Drive quality traffic without spending money. writing article in website and repost it on Ezine/ make some product promotion and websyoutube
and what else can increase website traffic? without spending money?

Please give me some guilde , If you were in my position , how to make sales quick . I know the foundation of website is not strong. i can;t expect too much.

All you can do is get to work on it as fast as you can. 300 listings isn't that bad, your talking about a month or so of hard work.

If your boss is unreasonable and he won't give you time, and you don't want to work for him that is another issue altogether.

I wouldn't waste time on SEO for instant sales, SEO takes time, you will have to go to adwords for fast results.

Sometimes the employer doesn't have a clue how long things take, not much you can do about other than educating him.

Getting your listings up to date builds a proper foundation for all your sales efforts, that is the logical place to start. Perhaps you could update one page and do the listing for that page on AdWords once it is done before moving to the next page, you can't do everything at once.

I think you need to have a short talk with your boss explaining that web site and product pages are not ready for traffic from FB.
You need to have everything ready first of all and only then start advertising. Better wait a few days and then start FB campaign or in this case all visits from there will be useless.

Stop your FB campaign if your website is not ready. You will loose money.

You should not be copying any content. It is really important that your content is unique and that you give out as much information about your products as you can. Add weights and sizes. Also the pictures should be high resolution pictures and more than 1 for each product. I think spending 20 to 25 miutes for each product is ok if you will have to add all that information.

Write good, unique and quality articles and and use Viral Content buzz to promote them.
Write on Forums related to your niche and add a signature, contact bloggers that write about your niche and offer them a nice commission to promote your products or send them some of your products for free so the can review them on their blogs. Establish a business relationship with them. Join Facebook groups related to your niche. Sell your products on Amazon and Ebay. Sign up on twitter, instagram, pinterest and all the other social media platofrms and learn how to use them effectively. Do youtube reviews of your products.

Many more ways but it would be helpful if you share your niche.

Slap the shit out of him with a keyboard and get back to your work:

    - If there are no conversions (or website clicks) stop that campaign, even if you see people saying to wait 5 - 7 days a shitty campaign can be detected from the first day.

    - Make some changes in your website first then think about promotion on facebook , and FB isn't the only plateform out there.

    - Explain to that idiot what facebook is .

    - If you get conversion to that dummy and you managed to get it to work, quit and start something for yourself.

    - Getting free traffic from Ezine and articles isn't easy . Check adword , banners buying, email blasting for more exposure.

    Good luck

    I am bit confused here...

Why would your boss hire you if you have no idea on "How to sell".

    Are you own boss?

Basically, you are in a rush, you have to calm down, nothing to rush.

Build your website properly, and you don't need 300 products to start with it, you just need few products to start and when the website is developed, start doing Google AdWords and promote to Google user and see whether it converts or not even it takes $10 to convert just check it.

When you understand that people really like your products then you can go for advance marketing, but I should not tell you everything now because you will be excited and overwhelmed.

Go slow and steady, nothing to rush

The boss is an idiot, there is no help for people trying to tell people to do things they have 0 idea about. He is probably just trying to motivate the OP and be boss like, but doesn't have a clue on how to do it himself.

OP, show him results in Analytics and he should shut up.

If you know a little bit what you are doing that is simple.

At least you realize that your business approach is on shakey ground.

Anything you do to try to increase traffic will probably be for naught. It will be like trying to put a bandaid on a severed limb.

If you really want to have a successful business, you need to build it on a sure foundation. You need to fix what's wrong with your web site because more traffic to poor destination is no formula for increased profits.

Your boss may or may not want to invest more time, money, and effort into fixing your site. If he is not willing, no amount of traffic is going to help.

    Yes.

Seriously, you'll have to do all of the above.

I'd start with the products that already sell and redesign those pages. Include photos and hopefully a video (unboxing actually does work).

Start a blog today. Internal links help and showing your knowledge of the products is invaluable to sales

Really with traffic already there, you've got a nice opportunity to grow pretty quickly

It's great to go with Facebook Ads,

But are those traffic targeted and interested in what your e-commerce store is selling?

Is your store have overloaded with products or too many types of products?

When you're using the FREE method [writing articles?] of driving traffic to your store, you will need a long time to watch their behavior, use different types of tool to identify them [that's a lot] and more important is Time.

The fastest QUALITY traffic is now when you're using Facebook Ads. The most important thing you listed above is driving targeted traffic using Fb Ads.

    Hello there,

It even came out from you; you know that the website's foundation is not strong, and you can't expect too much. This is applicable to you and your work. Pal, there's no sense of rushing things out just because your boss wants you to make a sale (and I assume make a sale TODAY, ASAP, PRONTO).

If you love your job, maybe it'll help if you let your boss understand the situation at hand. Let him know the website's not ready, there are a lot of things to do and needed hands to get the job done. Then, as soon as you fix everything, you can proceed to focusing on marketing and making a sale.

I hope you get my point, and all the points we raise in here. I wish you the best of luck.

  • You have to optimize your listings to increase your sales. As you said, you can hire someone who can help you to complete it at the earliest. If you have used Facebook alone, you can try some other social media sites like Twitter, pinterest, Instagram to boost more sales. It may take time but the reward is for sure. If you need help you can contact me!!

  • The best way to handle your scenario is to focus all your energy in completing your website. The guy doing your social media marketing could even help you with that.

If your boss is telling you to make sells then tell the boss to get the site finished and then you will make sells. You can't do both and if your boss does not understand that then just go find another job.

Based on my understanding, you are already driving traffic to your site and your boss wants you to convert them into sales. In order for you to do that, you have to present them with things that they would want to buy, without that, there will be no sales.

This is very simple, like what opensourcenetork said, even if you have visitors in your site, there will be no sale if there are no distinct attractive products or services that they should avail. Your products or services are the most important part of your website, this is where you earn money and without them being attractive to clients, either with information or content, then there will be no sense to continue the social media marketing.
