The Top 3 Ways To Use Forums & Drive Traffic To Your Site

Hi,
I wanted to share the 3 ways to use forums to drive traffic to your website.

Post rehashed articles daily

Yeah sure, somebody will always have a problem with rehashing stuff, but when it comes to your reputation, who gives a crap, right? It's not like this stuff can catch up with you! Just take stuff from other sites, run it through a spinner and hey presto! You've got yourself some golden nuggets you can feed to newbies who will think you're an expert.

Interaction with the stupid regulars

This is an important one. Under no circumstance should you converse with the regulars. Ignore them at all costs, they will only slow you down and make you rethink your strategy. Should they call you out on at any point, just repeat step 1 again.

Make overinflated promises in your signature

That's what it's all about right? Getting exposure on that baby and driving traffic to your site. You get extra points if you can pretend list building doesn't exist, and go straight for the money. Try injecting some false scarcity into your sales page, just so everyone knows you're totally not legitimate.

Here are my 3 ways please share yours.

Disclaimer: If you think any of these methods actually work, then more fool you.
This post is designed to be sarcastic.

    1. Make sure your lack of knowledge is evident in your daily articles.

    2. If anyone says you don't know what you're talking about, say they're being mean and picking on you.

    3. Be sure and mention that all other IMer's are scammers who are only after money, thus making yourself the only honest person left on the earth.

Make the same post multiple times in every section of a forum. When people see you've posted the same thing everywhere, it really makes them want to read your posts.

You can drive all the traffic in the world but at the end of the day, what matters is, does it CONVERT? My go to is to have a fake countdown timer on my page to make you think the price is going to skyrocket 1300% but really it just keeps resetting every day and the price never changes. If I'm really in a bind to steal your money, oops I mean sell you something, I like to use a pop up that says your site has been infected, your computer will be erased, and you have to pay me to un-infect it. CONVERTS like a charm.

    (End sarcasm).

Yeah, it's pretty amazing the garbage you sometimes see on this forum.

What's even more amazing are the things that the mods choose to leave on here, and the things they choose to delete. If you say something critical of one of their "darlings" your post gets deleted.

No wonder this place is going way down in popularity and traffic.

did not check any stats, but if thats the case, would it not be a good suggestion to

      1) rethink some of the policies that make people quit showing up & contributing here

      2) a leading marketing forum would have the capacity to hire a marketing team
that is able to boost the popularity and traffic to classic golden highs again

Nah, you got numbers 2 through 4. Number 1 is this one: you copy the content of one of the posts in the middle of the thread and post it as your own. Just make sure to add ellipsis dots at the end, so people know you got more, you just didn't want to overwhelm people.

And for responders, save time by not bothering to actually read the posts - just react to what you think the thread title means. It's not like this is a place for discussion.

Remember, anyone who disagrees is a hater.

"This post is designed to be sarcastic."

sorry i dont understand sarcasm, is it some kind of code?
Do you talk between the lines, do we have to translate it within
the mind to get to some kind of interpretation?

how should we react to it? With sarcasm obviously not.
We need to be educated and discuss it like school children

    Hahahaha, NOT!

Ah and that gentleman that said 'Remember, anyone who disagrees is a hater."

    WELL THATS FOR SURE.

there are a lot haters here, and you can actually identify them easily, they never
respond even once to ANYTHING you say, they always go irrelevant instantly
and say things like: "i do not like your haircut" - "Your other this or that is total shit"
    - "Your shoes obviously would not work in a city like NYC"

Haters have no life. But they pretend to be marketing experts. In reality they never sold
even a single product, otherwise they would have something to say, anything really,
that would make me pay attention to those miserable loosers.

Well making some more enemies tonight, lol, but you never can eat enough loosers
for breakfast tomorrow morning, there should always be enough of those in the fridge,

its rare - but it happens.

Sometimes you can change stoopid to smaart, when you make a point
        that gets to them.

once upon a time one client of my wife refused to sign his credit card bill
while checking in at a hotel. He said "I know Bali, they're all damn cheaters
and I will never give my signature to any of you"

I dont like credit card fraud of people that claim that they never booked
with us and we charged their card.

So I sent a polite but very firm letter with our staff to that guy, giving
him 3 options how to move on from here. One of these options was my
wife will cancel his reservation and he pays the 5 star room in cash - today.

This guy got so impressed that he not only signed his bill, he came back
every year and brought his relatives as well, and his friends, and his
complete office staff. Finally he met someone here that could make a point.

Create a post that says "private message me in a post". Don't show the newbie anymore in the post keeping them guessing till they send a pm. Or you can just post "I will help you check out my signature."

Write a 1 to 3 word post in a reply to the OP. Then have the most obnoxious signatures that rules allow. Why waste time writing more. Here is one example - "Thanks great post." That is a sure fire way to draw traffic to your landing page.

Open a 3-5 year post with a line sentence so people will want to click on your link offering any old service, besides what the OP posted a long time ago. Or open a several year old post asking what host do you use. Respond and say xyz host, the same one as in your signature. While the OP has not logged onto the forum in several years. By now he may just show up and change hosts. Instant traffic every time because in a few hours several more posts will show up below it.

Make sure you quote the longest post in the thread once it gets to Page 2.

Everyone skips to the last page first and then credit you with all the wisdom and authority of the original poster!

Oh, and add a really outrageous comment too, which needn't have anything to do with the thread, like...

    Donald Trump is a chump

And cuss a bit into the bargain because, by the time it's on page 2, the moderators probably won't pick it up.

And while you're at it why not throw in some really sexist remarks too - you want to provoke further comment wherever possible.

In fact, why not go out of your way to upset as many people as possible? It never fails to get you noticed!

    2. Go over board on posting in the forum for an hour, and comment on the same threads.

Yep for IM and MMO stuff that's a given.. but beyond that.. outside those niches.. maybe with the exception of weight loss and dating, providing value becomes super easy..

      I'll give you an example..

I had a client / friend that was struggling to get noticed in her niche, so we sat down for a couple of hours and went through it all.

Remember when Periscope was all the rage?

I know someone who was in a niche where the thought leaders would crowd onto Periscope and talk to their fans. They used it as a throw away technology without really seeing how valuable it could to grow their audience.

Each 20 minute stream or whatever, was an asset.. at least in the eyes of the fans.

So my friend, with permission, started recording each Periscope stream and uploading it to Youtube..

      ..Here's the sneaky part..

She also put HER OWN streams on there..

Then.. BOOM.. within a couple of weeks her channel.. and associated virtual real estate became THE place for fans to congregate and converse.

She placed herself right in the middle of the conversation.. by being associated with the existing thought leaders increased her authority and leadership within that niche.
