Article Marketering Earners Question: What else do you need to do?

Hi Everyone,

I have a question for the warriors that are doing really well with article marketing, those that have 1,000 plus articles out there generating a few hundred per day. So my question is, once your articles are out there and earning for you, does your business model then become matience model? If you are earning a nice chunk through the articles, and they are all set and going, then what else would you need to do? Does it become a "set it and forget it" model once you have those hundreds or thousands of articles out there driving sales to your affiliate products?

I'm not new to long hours or running a business, and I know that entering into the IM market will require many, many hours upfront, just as any new business does. I can see with the membership sites model, there is a need for daily customer service and such. I'm just wondering what the article marketing approach looks like, down the road?

Thanks, and I appreciate all your answers!

If you are building a list in "list niches" at some point, you can say the hell with articles for the most part and just maintain the list which is a heck of a lot easier than writing a ton of articles every day

Once your articles themselves are ranking and making you some money - hire someone to build a couple links to them a month and they are completely hands off to you.

I don't have so many articles, but from my experience most articles will drop after a while so keep this in mind. This especially if you rely only on Ezine. Or you do what Jeremy said to do.

Hey tea_lover2, I think you'll still need to constantly add articles each month no matter what niche you're in. I don't subscribe to the "set it and forget it" model since it's quite easy to reverse engineer your articles and write my own to compete with yours. If you find out who the top authors are in each category you can get a feel of what's working and what isn't.

Take a look at Mark Long's product which is excellent and explains the process you need to take in order to be successful with Article marketing. I read it and it completely changed my whole article marketing model.

Articles aren't get rich quick and are gonna take time and hard work. I'm literally starting to see some really good results from articles after a couple of months of writing. If you write for the person and not the search engine you'll do just fine.

I did an analysis of vistors from "articles vs ppc" and my article visitors signed up to my newsletters by a staggering margin. I think it's because you were able to build up some level of trust which goes along way to forging relationships.

I tested sending people to salespages, blogs, and simple opt in forms with a bit of info. The latter came out the best beating the other two 3-1.

    Hope that helps?

    Des.

      Hey,

I was all about adding articles daily. Till I learned proper keyword research.

I first went the route of "slow rollers" as I think that is what they are called. Writing many articles on keywords that bring in just the bare amount of customers daily and hoping to get them to purchase.

Doing this method was more writing then I was selling in my opinion.

I now write less articles but implement proper keyword research. I find this way brings in way more buying customers then flooding google with articles on iffy keywords.

I find a great keyword.....and it doesn't have to be a really high number...just a motivated buyer based keyword.

Spend more time working backlinks ( my articles are published on my domain blog first without question) to get to number 1 on Google for choice keyword(s)

Rewrite the article somewhat if at all and publish to my free wordpress blog with a few back links... just a few back links cause i hate wasting my hard work and time building back links to properties i don't own.

Then use the keywords that my article is ranking for seeded on my web page for said product.

In no time I can easily have 3 of the top spots on Google for my keyword funneling laser target customers that aren't just out kicking tires....

If I use the LinkWheel method on top of what I've already done I can simple just about domanat the first page of google for my keyword.

I know write less but super charge my articles for more power and income.

You would be very surprised what a good keyword or proper keyword research results wil have on your business.

"Wash and repeat" using working profitable keywords.

      jim

P.S. this is just my opinion and one off my methods take it for what it's worth.

Hey jimbo63, interesting concept and I'm glad it's working for you. Do you mean to say that your blog posts are getting better ranking than ezinearticles? Wow you must have a high PR with plenty of backlinks. From the research I've done, ezinearticle articles tend to stay in the top 5 rankings a lot longer with their internal linking structure at work. I also found that without natural links going back to your article it's hard to keep position. By natural i mean from different websites over a (Google specific) period of time.

I'd be interested to learn more about that technique and how it works. Do you have any examples?

      Hey desmond11,

If the keyword i'm going after has no ezine article hot on it's tracks ...then yes that page of googly is mine.

For example right now I have keyword a group of 2 words. I first did an enzine article using those keywords months ago and I mean like over 5months ago.

After reading on this forum about the benefits of posting on your own blog...one that you own on your own domain.

I took that same article and added to my blog that was recently added. I changed the title just so slightly and change up the first two sentences.

Published the article to my blog added some backlinks.

Then Published a small excerpt of the same article didn't change a thing this time to my word press blog. Just added a link to finish reading this article with an anchor text to my main blog.

Added a few back links ..as I said just a few as i don't like to waste my backlinks on properties i don't own.

I seen after doing this i was getting great traffic and got the idea of addinf a line or two with the keywords to my website also.

At this present time. This is the order of of my domination of Google .

      1. My blog on my website #2
      2. Ezine ..same oraginal article written months agao #3
      3. my website landing page with said product.#4
      4. My free wordpress with small excerpt and anchor text to my domain blog with slightly changed article

My mane website home page has a ranking of pr1 but some off my deeper pages has a ranking of pr 2. This is the page of my highly target product that i concentrate on the most.

A funny thing that hapens that I have noticed too.

My article on my blog and my article on ezine always seem like that are at war....meaning always trying to outdo eachother in goggle ranking.

Mind you I have not built any back links to my ezine article at all. All links are built to my domain blog.

They just seem to play this leap frog game always....but my domain blog is still always coming out ahead.

The very best info came from "TheRickJerk" I own him much props for explaining the importance of making your own domain the authority figure above all the rest.

        Thank you TheRichJerk

I like the sensible way in which you approach your marketing. It's a mixture of simplicity and deadly accuracy combined.

          Kudos

Article writing is an excellent way to pull in some sales and test a market before
focusing your efforts on that niche.

Once you know the market is giving you some sales, reinvest the money to
get a proper website, put an opt-in list and try to use PPC to drive targeted
traffic to your website. And that will put the website into a money making machine
    for years to come.

Do not depend solely on article marketing because google is always changing
it's algorithm and someday your articles may disappear.

      Hey thomashoi,
I feel I do have a propper website. I now has over 27 pages and just over 20 different products. that i promote all in the same niche.

I do sell many different products but i feel by targeting just one and really selling the hell out of it. Makes me so much more then spreading my self thin with the rest of my products.

I do lots of up selling this is when the other products sell.
I could really repeat what I'm doing on a few other hot sellers .....and I will in time. Right now This cash cow is still giving lots of milk .

I have not even tried the ppc part yet. Not even sure when I will venture into it. I do understand changes are happening all the time and your advive is vauble to have....if anything just learn the aspects of pcc might be a good idea.

Just my article marketing is working so fine right now.

Jimbo63: Hi, I would like to know where do you install your blog because you've mentioned your landing page. Is it on the main domain or something like domain.com/blog and put the landing page on domain.com. It is something I did recently and it is bother me if I choose it right.

        Hey redrossero,
Yes you have it right. If I understand you correctly.

My blog is on my main domain so it looks like this -> (www)mydomain.com/blog<-

Now my landing / sales / product pages are within the mydomain.com pages. So that would look like "mydomainproduct.com"

Place your articles on your own blog, use some keyword anchor text to link over to your product page within the same domain.

Now, I also use a word press blog too. I post my articles or parts of them there only after I post on my main domain site first.

Do some back linking to the articles on your site. Watch the Google dance till your article keywords settle down and you will be quite happy.

What's nice about having your blog being the authority site for your articles is the ability to set it up just like some of the top article directories.

Add your own ad sense accounts and your giving customers lots of clickable links to make yourself some money.

I've been busy going back and reclaiming all my old articles on ezine and re-posting them on my site. Giving them all new life again.

Anything else??? fire away and i'll try and help.

Just give your articles time on your site. You will see results.

Do not forget to bookmark , ping them and anything else you have been doing with your articles....these steps still apply while using your own blog.

            html skill???

For me it's really just a push of a button to add a word press blog theme to my site through Cpanel management within my hosting.

You may have that option and if so it's simple to do.

            Good Luck
            Jim

P.S. A great word press theme to check out is called "Atahualpa" so versatile, so simple and easy to use. It has a support forum with ppl that are very helpful. You can go wrong with it and you would be very hard press to tell the difference between it and a regular type website once set up properly. I love it.

I don't stop. I realize that some articles are not going to always maintain the current standing and as a result I continually produce articles, backlink ... and work on my own sites as well.

Wow, I´m just a begginer and I get tremendous feed back from all of you people.
I have submited 2 articles so far, first they haven´t been approved yet and second I wonder if it´s because they weren´t good enough.
Anyway, with all the tricks I learn through this forum, I may eventually get good results.
      Thanks again to everyone.
