Please Help: How do I Password Protect my Product

To my fellow Warriors,

I am soon to launch my first ever info product.

It consists of a video seminar and eBook with a few other bonuses.

I am planning on integrating aweber and using ClickBank for sales and for affiliates.

My Video seminar I would like to give instant access to once someone makes a purchase via clickbank.

The idea is they will get an email confirmation of their purchase along with a link to the video page which will require a user name and password to access.

Is it a simple solution? Any software or scripts out there that will do this for me? Do I need to hire a programmer?

    If your server supports cPanel, then it's easy as pie.

    cPanel has an option for password protecting your folders, and you can create something like yourdomain.com/download/ and password protect it.

    If you don't have cPanel (or any other similar software, that should have this option), then you may do it manually

    You don't have to be a a programmer to understand and do this...and it takes less than 5 minutes.

      Thank you for your response. This seems like an easy way to password protect the site, but then I would give everyone the same username and password to access the site?

      I was hoping to create individual usernames and passwords for every one that purchases my package or am I being too over protective?

      This is my first product and I have put hundreds of hours into it and I don't want it to become easy for anyone to access.

        I would say you are being to overprotected, especially if this is your first product.
        Spend the time working on promoting the product instead of protecting it.

        Actually leaking it might not be that bad after all especially if people like what you have and come back for more later.

        And, if protection turns out to be a real problem, you can always add protection later.

        A simple solution if you want the protection after all is to use amember, even though you don't have a "real" membership site.

    you can use authpro - it's pretty easy to set up and allows users to set up their own user and pass with clickbank. It also integrates with paypal and assigns unique user and pass for each customer.

    All it requires is a "members" subdirectory. You just copy and paste some code that authpro generates into the protected pages. Everything else is handled in the admin interface at authopro.
