Fiverr is great, but I need alternatives. I'm looking for logo design, product description, some SEO stuff, etc. Has anyone had good experiences with alternatives?

Fiverr has been great for me (both for myself & I also offer gigs).

However there are similar sites like:

Upwork (I have used this one & I also do some work on there)
    peopleperhour.com
    guru
    freelancer
    99designs

I hope this has given you a good list to start finding alternatives

I have found its better to use specialized service providers. There are good websites for content like text broker, and others for graphics. Just do a basic google search.

Personally, for me, Upwork is the best platform for hiring freelancers.

This growing platform system is very easy to use and there are plenty of professionals.

There are less spammy freelancers compared to Fiverr.

They offer many ways of payment.

I'll check them out too. I hired a logo guy from Fiverr. His colors were worse than my own taste. I gave him a negative review and he begged and pleaded with me to accept a refund because it was affecting his sales. I refused because he did the work. The refund was eventually given by force and the negative review removed.

THAT'S why you can't trust reviews on Fiverr. Fiverr allows the negative reviews to be refunded and they disappear. May as well call it a feel good and happy section not a review section.

Surely, you could've asked for a refund, rather than leave a negative review for the guy?

Feedback is very important on Fiverr, hence the reason why you easily can get a refund or your work re-done, if you are not happy with anything.

Feedback is MORE important for the prospective customer. I didn't want a refund the guy did his best, but other potential customers need my opinion. Does Ebay allow negative feedback to be removed?

Actually, the proper way to go, if very unhappy with work like that is to ask for a refund and leave a negative review.

If not very unhappy, but not satisfied, you leave a review.

The reviews exist to help future people decide who they want to work on fiverr.

Fiverr's been taken over by people in a lot of countries where $5.00 means a lot more to them than it does to me. I didn't want to take this guy's money back since he put in his time to do the work, but I did feel obliged to leave my opinion. Fiverr has got to stop allowing negative reviews to be deleted for these reviews to mean anything.

And that's how it should be. You don't leave a review, then remove it because the vendor is not happy you did not give a good review.

Some people deserve 5 stars, some deserve 3. On Fiverr, it seems, all get 5 stars, because people take back lesser reviews. So, how do I, or you, know who's the 5 star vendor that's deserved the 5 stars?

You guys got a point and I know what you mean, but a fiverr is such a small amount of money to kick a fuss about, when the work is not that good...Just get a refund and forget about it.

As you say, in some countries 5 bucks is actually a lot of money and people often making a living working on Fiverr.

The ratings most of the time do reflect the true nature of the seller's skills, so it's not the end of the world

Where I am, the median salary is 17/hour. 3 bad gigs and half the people around lost 1 or more hour of work.

Minimum wage is a bit over $7.

Some of the people close to the minimum wage are trying to move higher by buying from vendors on fiverr...

I know, I know, losing 1 hour or two of work to a lousy fiverr vendor is not the same as the same lousy vendor losing 1 or 2 day's worth of work. But people who buy on fiverr are not only from an area like mine, some are from areas where $5 is 2 or 4 hour's worth of work.

I think instead of asking here you could of find everything you want by taking couple of seconds and Googling what you want to know. Either way you can't go wrong with Fiver so instead of looking for alternative scale your business on fiver.

20% is nothing if you're getting the results you want. But there is a similar UK site called fivesquid(dot)com

Thanks for the reply Sasallic. I did spend time on google, a lot of time. I couldn't find any alternatives better than fiverr for our our purposes which is the kind of stuff an ecommerce company / store would need. Upwork and others seemed to provide more generic services.

I was originally have issues issuing payments on Fiverr which is why I wanted the next best thing but that's been resolved

I'm not the OP, but I did Google Fiverr alternatives and did not find Upwork which looks like a good possibility. Thus it never hurts to ask.

I have started several campaign in fiverr, upwork and peopleperhour but none of them was successful!

Maybe people there are not too much experienced or I am not well experienced on the project.

However, I used Google for the same project and find some company offering the services, start same campaign with them and it was successfull

    I personally recommend zeerk.com.

Actually GigBuys is fantastic! You are right on that I have been selling gigs on that site for only 1 week and the claims are true. No fees or anything except for Payza's direct fees but http://GigBuys.com doesn't charge any fees on top, no commissions and I love that!

Fiverr is was too crowded now full of so much competition and they like the rest of the other sites charge about 20% commissions and other fees so it's hard to make money.

In just the last few days I have seen a lot of new people join... The words starting to spread. Don't take my word for it, try it yourself it works.

Remember that the website is just the website and it doesn't matter what website you're on.

No matter if it's upwork, fiverr or whatever you're still dealing with people.

So deal with the people and realize that different types of websites attract different types of people.

What types of people do you want to deal with and where will you find them?

As an internet marketer you should always look for better services. Hence if you could do that outside fiverr; there is no reason why you should not accept that. That's why I always like to experiment with other sites also.

For example for logo and design stuff you can have a niche marketplace which provides more quality work. Same is true for other stuffs like social media, SEO, content writing, website creation etc.

I know many people don't like the working system of sites like upwork as you need to post your project, then chose the right seller. It consumes some time also.
