How much to write a tweet?

OK. So there are ghostwriters who will research
and write special reports and ebooks. There are
article writers, press release writers and there
are folks who will write blog posts.

Are there any tweet writers out there?

And, if so, what's the going rate for a batch of
tweets?

Are they going cheap, cheap? ;-)

You mean writing on twitter... that is just 140 letters :p
But, it should be very attractive + eye catching to make the users to look into. I don't think there are professional tweet writers offer such services :p

      I'm sure there's a market for it. I'd be
happy to pay for a batch of tweets for
      specific niche markets.

Dan's content is irregularly read by handfuls of people. Join the elite few by reading his blog: dcrBlogs.com, following him on Twitter: dcrTweets.com or reading his fiction: dcrWrites.com but NOT by Clicking Here!

Dan also writes content for hire, but you can't afford him anyway.

    John,

There are twitter managers who handle the writing and posting of tweets, and identify people and groups of people to follow and interact with.

This could be the name of the ghost bird writer. He could call himself The Raven and his service could be "Quoth the Raven" twick or tweat...

John, why do you do this to my pre-coffee self.

I've been doing a twitter thing for about two months now, and I'm generally charging five bucks a tweet. I say averaging, because I sometimes write a tweet script for a couple of other people to have a kind of tweet conversation, and I was paid around $200 for those.

@justin: really? Waw, it even higher than people hiring me for writing article! How did you "sell" yourself to write tweet to others?
I would love to apply myself as someone else assistant. I know this is really good idea, especially if a person have several twitter account under different niche, each. Can you share more about your experiences here Justin? Thank u.

@John: you are brilliant to post on this question. I never think about this before. I never realize it is even possible . If you do need assistant, John, please consider me. I really need extra cash. And i am willing to be paid less. Thanks John for everything

Wow justin! 5 bucks a tweet that's actually good specially that it's only 140 characters long.

Some people would not only tweet for 5 bucks, some may even sing!

Good idea Justin and thanks for opening this thread John..This is another potential for making a decent living..

To add value to this thread..I would recommend offering your Tweeter service to business owners. This way it will be more acceptable and profitable.

A batch of people conversing about a product on twitter is a good promotion strategy Ok. I'll stop here now..

Had to reply here - even though this is an older thread.

I've been outsourcing writing tweets for my clients for approx 2 years now & have developed a system for collecting the content for the tweets - or having them outsourced for approx $1 per tweet. This took a lot of time, trial & error - because when I first started outsourcing, no one knew what the heck I meant when I asked them to "write tweets" for me. I finally figured out the best way to get cheap, good quality tweets for my niche.

Then, I upload & schedule them for my clients into an autoposting service like Socialoomph

I'm working on & will be launching pre-written tweet packs for my niche later this month - if anyone is interested in learning more, PM me. I'd like to branch out & sell tweets on all sorts of topics as I believe there is a real need for this - however, collecting the data, packaging & selling is a big task. So for now, I'm sticking to my niche.

I'd love to discuss the possibility of going bigger with this idea if there is anyone out there who is a big thinker like me - I've already thought of at least 10 niches who would really benifit from having pre-written tweets.

Not to pick on you Omar, but this is one of my pet peeves. It's actually harder to write concisely and well than it is to blather on and on. I've never understood the idea of charging by the word.

When he was asked to write a short story in two days, Mark Twain replied, "NO CAN DO 2 PAGES TWO DAYS. CAN DO 30 PAGES 2 DAYS. NEED 30 DAYS TO DO 2 PAGES"

Dr. Seuss spent nine months composing The Cat in the Hat. It uses just 220 different words and is 1,702 words long. He was a meticulous reviser, and he once said: "Writing for children is murder. A chapter has to be boiled down to a paragraph. Every word has to count."

The real craft of writing is in editing. It's not about how many words you can throw into the mix. And this paragraph would have been better and more concise without the second sentence.

There was a recent thread in the copywriting forum about the different between pro copywriters and "faux" copywriter, and the consensus was that a lot of it had to do with the ability to be sharp, concise, and effective, without all the flowery stuff.

Substitute "damn" every time you're inclined to write "very"; your editor will delete it and the writing will be just as it should be. ~Mark Twain

And all of those advertising services are bloody dangerous to your twitter account - the people who tweet the ads from those services generally find that they lose 50-100% of the followers who see that ad come across their screen. Given that not all of your followers are watching every time you tweet you won't lose all of your followers at once, but you're likely to lose the ones that would have been most important to you - the ones who are actually paying attention to you and who would have been predisposed to act on your recommendations until you sold their twitter stream for pennies.

Twitter is the outer edge of your marketing funnel - in some markets direct sales and direct monetization might work, but mostly you're looking at one more channel for personal branding and a low-touch entry to your marketing funnel that's even lower threshold than an email list.

People who'd never give you their email will follow you on twitter, and if you impress them favorably you can lead them down the marketing funnel of your choice - but only if you don't act like "that guy" who starts a hard sell pitch for life insurance five minutes after you meet him at your cousin's wedding.

We charge 2 cents a word. Marketing on Twitter requires the following:
    Sensitivity to context
Sensitivity to the TIMING of the post
    Call to action

      TweetLater.com recently changed their name
      to SocialOomph.com
      just in case Twitter decides
to protect their name in the future.

AFAIK Twitter have not objected to the use of
their brand names yet. However, it would be a
risk to include a brand name in a domain.

It is rumored that Kim Kardashian is paid 10K/mo for her tweets from a few select corporate sponsors. Following suit, I know a few people with rather large followings who do that now on Facebook and Twitter. Or are looking for ghost writers for your own products/services on your own Twitter page? PM me and we can discuss if you'd like.
