Just refurbished my website.. any suggestions?

Just spent 3~4 hours re-doing up my whole site.. I don't want to double post, its basically the link in my sig. file.. However, i really think it needs much much more advice to turn it into more useful friendly and SEO optimized site.. If its possible would you spend just 5 minutes of your precious time to check out and suggest to me ways of how i could i improve it? Any comments will be deeply appreciated!

      OMG.. I think i just crashed the whole .ws server.. OH man. I can't even access the main domain of website.ws .. Shucks.. Im really panicking now.. It couldn't be something i have done right?? I just did a basic uploading, and now the whole thing crashed... Help~!

            Glad your site is back up Edmund.

            Did you build this site using the GDI site builder?

            A couple of things just quickly that I noticed need changing and the first is to go through every bit of content you typed and please put in a capital "I" wherever you have said, for example the underlined "i" below:
            "A little about myself, my name is Edmund, and i am like most you people out there"

            You have some links in the top of the left sidebar, I think you should rename those links so people have a clue where they are being asked to click, e.g.

            2nd link says "Newbies click here" - well, why?

            So change it to something like "Warrior Forum Best Money Making Threads" or at least "Warrior Forum" not just "newbies click here" - if I had arrived on your site as a newbie, I personally would not have clicked that link.

            The next link down, name what the affiliate program is, in this case it is Global Domains International. For a start that has got to be better on page SEO than "my affiliate program".

            On the right hand side, under "Partnerships" you need to rewrite that as I can't easily understand what you are trying to get at there, or perhaps ask someone to rewrite your intention there for you. If I am a casual visitor to your site I won't take too much time trying to figure it out and will just leave.

            There are quite a few other things that need changing, pm me tomorrow if you want some more suggestions.

            Hope that helps a little and please consider perhaps using a wordpress site to do this, it will look better and has better SEO but that's just a suggestion.

              Susanne, thanks for the great suggestions! I used most of them except for the wordpress one, mainly because i do not know how to use wordpress to integrate in my website . I left a link to your profile within my site as a form of thanks! Btw, i just sent you a PM for more suggestions, hope to hear from you soon!

              P.S.: Btw, i did not use the site builder, i grabbed a free template, which then i re-edit, plus a few modifications here and there and came up with my own web template

    It has potential but you should really look at a better title than Welcome to my site. Some search engines search on the title. I would add some more text with keywords to the page just above your sign up box. It may be helpful to also add a free give away to entice people to join your list. I see that you are trying to brand your self with your website link, so make sure you add some of you to increase your credibility.

      Richandrich, Thanks for the suggestion! I changed to the banner into one which looks more professional.. Done by myself And also i obtained a ebook on the basic blueprint of affiliate marketing and put it as part of my free gift for signing up with the newsletter.. Thanks for the suggestions!!

        Also, noticed you are still not capitalising the letter "i" in your sentences, you need to change this.

        The post you did with my profile link contains the word "doned" which is probably just a typo, take out the letter "d" at the end of the word.

        Getting late here in the UK now so I will be back online some time tomorrow.

      I don't think you are going to like me - but here goes anyway.

      I don't like the site. The design is childish - it looks like something a child might have designed 10 years ago.

      There are lines and boxes of all different colours all over the place.

      You need to "clean" it up.

      Centre the site on the page.
      Get rid of all those lines.
      "Overview"? - Overview of what?
      Proof read it.
      Don't tell me what you "hope" to do - tell me what the site is about.
      Add a menu bar so I can navigate
      Some of your links are underlined and some aren't. Don't make your visitors "guess" where the links are - make it obvious

      Hope that doesn't all sound too harsh, but you did ask

        Have you heard of the saying that sometimes the more bitter the medicine tastes, the faster the cure will be? Thanks Carol for the frank criticisms! I just re-vamp the whole site..           Just went and looked and the improvements are great.

    That kind of construction of websites with tables went out with the dinosaurs. You either need a nice looking template, or someone to design it for you, or convert the whole thing to a blog with a nice looking template. Personally, I would go the blog route. Gives you plenty of room for adding new content and expanding, but the current design is pretty awful.

I just spent the whole constructing the site, feeling quite worn out.. Blog route? How do i go about converting it? If you could give me more details that will be great.

        Does your host supply cPanel hosting? If they do, you can install Wordpress from Fantastico. Then do a search for a template that you like - or customise my favourite theme, Atahualpa.

        You should be able to copy and paste the text content.

        Your site will look a whole lot more professional then.

        And don't think the time you've spent so far has been wasted. It hasn't. You're learning all the time, and that is what IM and web design is all about.
