Just getting started - I have a great product - what next?

I've been lurking in this forum for weeks now trying to assimilate as much as possible. I've hooked up with a great affiliate product and I want to start article writing for it. I've been following the Bum Marketing methods but I can't get Ad Word Analyzer to return any results so I'm going straight to google sandbox to try to do some keyword research but I'm struggling.

Can anyone offer some generic suggestions on how to find that right keyword phrase(s) to target with my articles?

I'm starting from absolute zero here but I'm absolutely convinced that this product is fantastic (I've been using it for months and love it) and just need to find the right formula to get my articles read.

        Well, I finally did it. I did some research on long tail keywords, found on that was reasonably low in competition and wrote an article. Now it's only been about 8 hours so I'm sure I'm jumping the gun but so far, no traffic.

        I don't know what's considered good form around here or not so I don't want to post a link to the article (unless someone tells me it's OK) but would any of you people who have some experience writing articles to promote an affiliate product be interested in reading the article and critiquing it? I'd love to get some feedback on what I did right and what I could have done better.

          Hang on there Steve,

          You are trying to go too fast! One article is not going to get you where you want to go. You will need at least 50, if not more. Submit one a day for the first 10 days then reduce that to 2 or 3 per week for several weeks and after that one submission a week will be great. You might want to consider outsourcing the writing of these.

          Then you still need to set up some squidoo lenses that link to your site. Here you can use related PLR articles as long as you have rewritten them. Here again, daily lenses to start and reducing slowly over time.

          A blog is also pretty close to being essential if you want to really promote your site. As with the articles, post daily to start with, then reduce slowly. Do make sure the content is interesting and pertanent. You can even use squidoo lenses to promote the blog.

          It should take about a month or so to see results come in, but 8 hours - sorry - that is just not going to happen.

            I know that 1 article is not going to return results... But what's the point in writing 10 or so a day if what I'm writing isn't "optimized" for the results I'm looking for.

            I guess my post was more a request for critique on my writing style and whether or not "I get it" in terms of how to write articles for the purposes of affiliate marketing.

            Trust me, I've lurked here for a long time so I know that patience is a virtue but since it was my first "toe dipping" into the pool I was hoping for someone to say "you've got the right idea now go forth and write more."

              The product is not the most important thing. You want to first focus on your market. Market first, Product second.

    I know my market... I know who needs this product... My question still is are any 'experts' in the field willing to look at my style of writing my articles to make sure it's adequately "keyword rich" to be successful in reaching my market?

    Hey Steve,
    Here is my suggestion, just write as much as you can write... Dont bother to check the stats until the end of the week. The results wont start pouring into cash right away. You Just need to focus on what you got to do and not distracted by the statistic. They will grow slowly.

    Just as a quick FYI, I got notified by searchwarp.com that my article was removed because it was an "advertisement." I guess that answered that! I rewrote it and apparently it got accepted the 2nd time so we will see.

    Here's the article. Hopefully if it's in violation of the WF TOS they will tell me to remove the link and I will comply but Sandy didn't think it was a bad thing to do so I'm trying it. I just want to see if people think it's "OK" as a first article.
