I have two products that i have on jvzoo in the MMO niche i did a launch on muncheye and got over 20 affiliates to signup and i have still have not made any sales at all and its been close to a month now. i get a few visitors a day from like one affilate or so but the rest of the affiliates dont show in my stats they dont seem to be doing anything at all its like they dont exist.i had prior contact with most of the affiliates during the signup process in which they told me how they were going promote my offer etc.. but still nothing. what could be the problem?

Even though more people will require access to promote your product as affiliates, a big part of them won't do anything.
I'm telling you this from a similar experience where I had around 40 approved affiliates but only got a few sales from a few of them.
Therefore, the number of affiliates is not very relevant. Only a few affiliates will make you in fact the most sales, while the most of them won't even try to promote the product.

Quite literally, the problem is you.

Nothing personal, mind you, but you don't have a big name in IM, you don't have a network of established satisfied affiliates, and you don't have a bunch of big list back slapping buddies that all promote each others products.

Lots of affiliates will never promote the products they register with. It's pretty typical that most affiliate sales are referred by just a handful of affiliates.

It takes time to develop a few great affiliates that will actively promote for you.

    Steve

PS. Do you have a high converting offer? Are you paying the affiliates a high commission? Do you have a high quality product? Do you give affiliates marketing materials? All these things matter.

So you are saying that the reason iam not succeeding is because i dont have a big enough name in the IM field? I mean I am sure that you have other marketers that have launched products that are not big time marketers and have gotten sales. While iam not disputing the fact that a big name does help to bolster your success to a degree, I mean you have to start somewhere. I understand that iam not going to have a big name right out the gate, but there has to be some middle ground where i can at least see some level of success. I followed steps in launching my product, listing my affiliate program on well know boards etc. I know i have a good product, Iam giving away 65%commission to affiliates, they have access to banners and emails etc. Its not rocket science.so i mean how hard can this really be ? Or maybe this is not the right business for me ?Do you have a product and if so how did you get top affiliates to sell for you?

Does your website or salespage convert? You should send some traffic yourself or hire somebody to send traffic and make sure you are getting some EPC's. Thats the first step before you even want to go out and find quality affiliates. Make sure your stuff converts!

A lot of affiliates on JVzoo will simply apply and not promote your product.

If you want good affiliates, you need to directly contact them and make a deal. Most of the time, the random affiliates that apply for your product are terrible and don't really know what they're doing.

That can sound a little harsh, but there really is a "bar" you have to reach before affiliates will take a chance mailing for you.

When you are a total unknown (for example - new member here, 2 posts, both in this thread) an affiliate is taking a much bigger risk promoting YOUR product vs. promoting another merchant whose offers are proven to convert.

Having the foresight to announce your product(s) on MunchEye is commendable, but if you think about it, they are really just another form of affiliate network. Essentially just an ad network targeted toward affiliates.

If ever there was a secret... THIS IS IT!!!

I take your lack of participation here on the WF as an indication of your lack of effort on the front end. It's pretty easy to be one of the hoard of "anonymous" affiliates. Not so much so, as a product creator.

You need to establish your "street cred"... create a brand for yourself. You haven't done that here, and I assume you haven't been very proactive elsewhere, either.

      Think of it as pre-pre-lanch

As you "establish" yourself and make some connections in your market, begin making a list of those that you think could help in your product launch. Strengthen those relationships - maybe even contact them privately. Eventually... let them know about your plans for a new product.

At least thirty days BEFORE your release, send them a preview copy and ask if they would be willing to review it for you, and provide a critique.

Just before you release, ask if they would be willing to help you promote your product (include a complementary copy of the final product) and explain how they would benefit (commission rate, ad creatives, etc.) from any help they could give.

This is just a starting point - not a complete plan.
There is a lot more you can do as these relationships develop, so be creative.

Simply listing on an affiliate network is neither creative nor proactive.

Since you're so pressed for time, it makes me wonder just how much time and effort went into creating your product.

Starting a new business venture, online or off, is not a way to instant riches (as you have witnessed) - regardless of whatever hype you may have read elsewhere.

I can't help you with your short term needs. That's what credit cards are for.

If you want to make money within the next few weeks, relying on affiliated is not going to work.

To get top notch affiliates you need to have:

          1. A good EPC, ideally better than $2
          2. A full sales funnel with upsells (that will get you that high EPC)
          3. Have got yourself on the leaderboards of other marketers' launches (a lot of affiliate pushes come from reciprocation)
          4. Have announced you launch a month in advance (many top affiliates have plans 30 days ahead)
          5. Have a good JV page with product images, email swipes, and bonuses that affiliates can 'give away'
          6. You might also consider an affiliate prize contest (affiliates are a competitive bunch and like to see themselves winning contests)

Obviously you haven't got time to set that up right away. So here's my advice ( based on experience)...

Freeze your JvZoo product for a later relaunch.

Sell your product as a WSO. Don't worry about affiliates.

Concentrate on getting a good EPC. Do more forum posting here with your WSO in your sig.

You'll earn some money now, will have tested your sales page and funnel and, if all goes well, will have a high EPC that you can show on your JV page when you do launch on JVZoo properly.

Keep refining your sales page every time you bump your WSO. Work on getting that EPC up.

Of course you'll also be building a buyers list. Build a relationship with that list and start promoting the offers of marketers that you respect and who you want as affiliates.

It's mainly about who you know, not what you have to offer.

          Hope that helps

If it were that easy, everyone would throw up a product on Jvzoo, post to muncheye and watch the dough roll in. It's not, you need to network, if you really want to be successful in that niche, go to events and seminars they have and network, more deals are done at the bar than anywhere else.

This sounds like a great way to meet affiliates but i know that seminars and events cost a decent amount of money to attend, especially a situation where you are going to meet top talent to sell you products, and for someone like me who is starting out who doesn't have that type of money to spend this is a longshot solution. But Thanks for you advice.

Do this, if its your first product give 100% commission to affiliates so that you establish a relationship with affiliates. From there you can tell which affiliates really pull in the numbers. For your next product you can contact the few affiliates who made you the most sales and work out a partnership. Invest in getting good affiliates.

You don't even want an affiliate who can't see past the % sign... to the $ sign.

The affiliate makes just as much money if you double your price and set the commission rate at 50% - or increase the price by half and set the commission rate to 75%. Any affiliate who is not capable of understanding this isn't one who is going to be productive for you long-term, anyways.

      Story...

In my early days, at a big name live event, I approached a known "super affiliate" about promoting my new product for 50% commissions and he said that he wouldn't promote anything for less than 75%. He typically promoted $7 products (I know because I was on his list) and my new product was priced at $47, so his list could have converted at 1/4 his normal rate and he would have still made much more money from a mailing.

I had actually set up 75% for a few others at that event - but his attitude put me off and I passed on his offer.

Years later, that product now sells for 4 times the original price, and that "super affiliate" isn't even around any longer.

If it doesn't sell more than 50 copies the first day it's a dud.

I'll give you a really big tip that many people don't realize...

Buy an AD on muncheye for $50 and promote your launch.

If you invest in your launch it shows potential JVs that you have skin in the game. That you're putting your money where your mouth is. And that your product is worth investing in. If you won't invest in it why should they? I've seen no name affiliates do this and make the cost of the ad back plus build a list. It's going to take more than one try.

You have to keep your name in front of people.

    Check the basics first.
1.)How much traffic is your sales page receiving?

2.) Where is the traffic coming from?

3.) If you are getting a lot of traffic I would have someone look at your sales copy for you because this is most likely your problem..

Also you should always be testing different things in your copy.

I would also run some solo adds or some kind of paid traffic to my site..
The more views the more chances of making some sales..

Unfortunately it takes a while to succeed from affiliate sales.

Can almost guarantee that no matter how many affiliates you have, only a small fraction will actually produce. There's many reasons for this:

    1. They might not have a good / responsive list
    2. They may be new at being an affiliate
    3. If they have a list, they may only mail out once

OR .. it may be the product you created is either (1) not good or (2) no appealing enough for people to purchase.

Have you sold any yourself without affiliates?
