Hey Everyone!

I'm currently working on my non-profit site. We have the google ad-grant for non-profit so I'm using adwords to direct traffic our way.

The issue is I can direct them to our non-profit site only. Is it possible to make a landing page or something of the sort that would be better suited then the information page about our product?

Is it possible to have a page popup just for the ad when directed to out site?

Just trying to get some ideas.

Thanks!

From my experience, you can make a landing page as long as its compliant with adwords. They've gotten more lenient after the hard slaps in '09. But is there a specific rule for non-profits?

If not, then you can create a specific landing page. As long as there is content on the page, the links on the bottom, and a nav menu.

For rules all I know so far is that the adwords url has to be to my main site. But It can to anything on the site. So I have it directed to a page that can lead potential customers to our product website.

Basically you need to read the Adwords policies to make sure you are fully compliant.

Only you will get penalized if you do it wrong. No-one else. So beware of advice from others without confirming it.

    That said...

Yes you can and should create a landing page specifically for your AdWords ad. In fact you may need multiple landing pages depending on what your ads are offering.

The landing pages must be on your own domain (your NP site).

No you cannot have a pop-up on any landing page (there are some exceptions but just don't).

For every action (button/link etc.) it must be clear to the visitor 'what is happening next' (hence no pop-ups as they have no idea what is happening as they did not instigate it.

The landing page requires a number of things to be compliant i.e. privacy policy, possibly a disclaimer depending on what your landing page promises, a link back to your sites home page etc.
