How do I contact the network marketing heavy hitters?

by dkeeney 18 replies
Hi,

I have been in mlm for many years, and have always wanted to come across a dream company at the earliest stages of its release. Well, I finally have had that dream come true, but now have the unforseen difficult task in getting this company in front of the REALLY BIG heavy hitters. I'm sure many, if not most of them have not been introduced to this company and I am convienced a good number of them WILL be interested in this, I just want it to be NOW, through MY efforts!!

How do I locate and approach these individuals? I've tried locating them through google searches and emailing a few of them...without success. I'm sure however, that this isn't the most effective way.....any suggestions? BTW, I'm really not enamored with these individuals; I just think it is prudent that if I can, I should at least try to contact them.

    David,

I am sorry to say this but Network Marketing leaders hardly join any program introduced by a stranger. Leaders all have friends known for years on Skype and keep in touch with each other who is involved in which company, who is now on the operation side of companies...

Leaders with websites receive similar emails (and phone calls) seriously everyday (including from their leader friends) and anyone else who would approach a leader with an opportunity, typically don't receive any response. Even if leaders are somewhat interested in your opportunity, you probably won't hear anything back because people can turn to their old friends for any information instead of hearing it from you (and typically known the CEO in person).

If I see a telephone number from outside area code and I don't recognize, then I won't even answer because it's always a stranger first picking your brain asking questions, yet gradually starts talking about an opportunity -- just not worth the time...

In this forum, you probably want to focus your attention to building your own "system" of Funded Proposal Concept and prospect list building with auto responder instead of asking Network Marketing related knowledge.

Good effort on your end though... you never know though right? Good luck in everything you do and don't give up.

PS. You cannot use replicated corporate website for your forum signature in this forum. When you have your own website (not domain, but website), you'd be welcome to use it.

My advice: BECOME a heavy hitter by doing the things the heavy hitters do.

Before long, you won't have to worry about finding them. They'll be looking for you.

      I agree 100% here.

I've only been doing this 3 years...but now have some VERY well known marketers contacting me. In the first 18 months - the only leaders around me were the ones I "raised up". Then in the recent 18 months...the level of leader joining me or joining my team gradually rose higher and higher. I literally have multi millionaires that have now joined me. (Which 2 years ago I never even dreamed of happening)

I think Brian said it perfectly - and here's another version I heard from Stone Evans:
"Become the leader that you wish was your sponsor"

Last week I approached a "big guy" and he actually did respond with a human-written answer! LOL

He wanted to know the click-through rate and conversion rates of the product, which are pretty darn good.

Then he responded saying he would let his family member try it first and if it went well he would consider it.

Further proof of the above-mentioned friends (family) scenario.

      So far, so good. LOL

But what really bothers me is the fact that no matter how much I begged him to actually look at the product, he would not. He was only concerned with the conversion rates.

Also, about 2 months ago, another VERY big marketer approached ME about one of my memebrship websites. Turns out I could do something for him, and that is why he approached me.

Two weeks later he decided to drop his project and no matter how much I try, he will not respond to my emails about whether or not he will still promote this membership site. Obviously he's not going to do it because I can no longer help him. Funny, two weeks prior I had the greatest thing on Earth!

Sad, but true. I think I'll start a new thread about that.

        Hi David,

I am not surprised that there is no reply. Since they are heavy hitters as you have mentioned, I think they may have received many emails from strangers.

Personally, I have a few friends who are millionaires. But the thing is when I first knew them, I didn't know they are.

It is building relationship from scratch and getting to know them as acquaintances. Subsequently, we began to chit chat more and our friendship grew. It is only then I found out they are millionaires. Others are 6 to 7 monthly figure earners.

These friends of mine introduced me to their friends of the same status. But I didn't do it just because of business purpose. I treated them as normal friends.

What I want to say is treat them as friends and build a strong foundation.

You will be surprised that you can make many friends in this way and they are longer-lasting, compared to contacting people just for business.

        Cheers,
        John

Well, I would like to give you a little advice. Take it with a grain of salt. I know some heavy hitters as most probably do. One guy I know currently makes over a million a year and if you are in the business, you probably know or have heard of him. He is consistently one of the top earners in whatever company he is with. Yes, I have known him for years and several companies now.
I no longer do MLM and he still tries to get me to come on board. He is a nice guy to know.
But to my main point. I was looking for that great start-up company too one time in the past. I was even on the video that all reps get when they decide to join. That's getting in early!
Anyway, study the company and look for future problems etc. (which is very hard to really do). Do they really have a product you would purchase if it wasn't mlm at a price you might pay at a local store?etc. etc.
What I am saying is be careful and mindful of the time and money you invest.
The early stage companies sometimes don't make it very far.
It can be profitable if it does.
There are many companies that actually have good or even great products that don't make it.
Just hang in there. Much success to you.

When you meet a guru on the road .... drive over him.

Stop .... then reverse over him to make sure he is fcukde.

When you get out to see if you qualify as a Hero.... just step carefully

The road will be covered in bulls.t

How many emails, letters, phone calls, etc do you think those heavy hitters get a day from people just like you? Think about it.

Chances are, if your company is worth joining, the corporate leadership of your company went after the heavy hitters long ago.

If you want to do business with somebody, pick
up the phone and call them.

I've had success with make-money programs and
I get a lot of people trying to recruit me (badly)
on a daily basis. Rarely do any of them have the
b@lls to actually call me - which I respect 100 times
more than a pathetic email solicitation.

AT that point if they can't send me to a site where
I can get the facts I say NO. I don't want to
waste an hour listening to a bizop call. If I did that
every time somebody asked me to it would be
a huge drain on my time. Your up-line no doubt
wants you to put people on the call so they can
"feel the energy" - but people who've been around
are over it and they aren't interested in the hype,
    they want facts and figures.

    Good luck.

One way to get a big hitter to do something for you - is to do something for them first. - I'm no big hitter, but when one of my top selling affiliates emails me- I always pay attention to what they have to say. If someone just emails me out of the blue, asking for favors, then they usually end up in the "My Nigerian uncle has left me a $1,000,000" folder. ie - trash.

Most of the big hitters are the "what have you done for ME lately?" types.

Build a reputation in the industry first, become a known name, then it will be easier to get in touch with them.

I'm not even in MLM and I know some local 'heavy hitters' and even do cross-promotions with them. Why? Because I put my name out there first on the Internet everywhere.

For the real, successful MLM big hitters, I doubt they'll want
to shift over to new MLM. They've understood the concept
of MLM and are working with the company that they are in
    because they believe in it.

Your best bet would probably to become a big hitter yourself.

Don't bother about trying to tell the big hitters of a new MLM
company that's going to be a hit - they'll turn deaf from an
unknown but they'll be willing to listen if it's a person whose
    name they've heard before.

I don't mean to be rude David, but I get the impression that
you want a shortcut to success by getting one of these
big hitters under your belt so you don't have to work so hard
anymore since you stated you wanted it "NOW, through MY
    efforts!!
    "

    If I'm wrong, I apologise.

LOL!! Yes, Asher you are exactly right! I am trying to take a shortcut. The thing is, this is the first time I've been in this position and I'm wanting to take advantage of it. I'm beginning to realize however, even in this situation, that when it comes to network marketing there really aren't a great deal of short cuts to be made.

      No offense taken.

I've been involved in NWM full-time for many years and have reached the top of companies. It's a great vehicle, you just have to have a great system working for you.

Once your "warm market" dries up, what do you do to consistently sponsor new people and explode your downline??? Everyone's biggest challenge is sponsoring and duplication. What if you could solve both??

I've recently discovered a very powerful online system that works for any company and works quickly. I'm not trying to sell you on my company as it works with your current opportunity . I've sponsored 3 people in the last 10 days alone using this system none of which were people I knew.

Check out my signature link to see a brief overview of this revolutionary way to get massive exposures in your current opportunity.

I sell products to network marketing so-called "heavy hitters" and MLM executives. The best way to meet them is to go where they go. I am speaking at a MLM Conference in Las Vegas on Feb 26 and Feb 27 at the Clarion Hotel. It is specifically for executives of MLM Companies and startup MLM companies. I won't be speaking on this particular topic, but there will be a speaker discussing how to recruit top distributors. The conference is on Starting and Running the Successful MLM Company.

The point I want to make here is that the biggest heavy hitters end up starting their own companies. They are not really interested in starting over again. While they are building their downlines, their dreams turn to bigger things - of starting their own MLM empire and they then bring their downlines along with them. It happens a lot in this industry.

The cost for this two day conference is $195 plus hotel and food. And, you guessed it - it's only for network marketing big hitters and executives. Big name MLM speakers will be there; Robert Butwin (author of "Street Smart Networking"), Jeffrey Babener, Michael Sheffield, Josh Brinkley, Clifton Jolley, Garvin DeShazer, and dozens of other professionals in the business.

My recommendation is NOT to go after the heavy hitters. They will not be good for your business in the long term. Your downline will become their new business.
