Is this possible/legal/ethical? - Redesigning clickbank salesletters

Hey guys and girls,

I have a question for you... Let's say that there's this awesome clickbank product you want to promote but the salesletter SUCKS...

Is it possible for you to create a brand new salesletter with a new design and possibly new copy and still promote the same product with your own version of their salesletter simply by placing an order button with your affiliate ID embedded? So both you and your vendor receive your percentage?

The vendor will still get their cut and you may even acquire much higher conversions than the original salesletter... thus ultimately benefiting the vendor too...

But I could imagine some copyright issues here too..

Or can you only do this with master resell rights/plr products?

Cheers guys!
Brent

I have seen this exact thing done before. If I was a product owner and someone was promoting my product like that I'd have no problem with it. I don't know what clickbank thinks about it or if it is ethical or not though. The site I saw also had a support button that would e-mail the product owner.

I remember a service run by Dr Mike Woo that offers clickbank saleletters. It has been around for couple of years. You upload the new saleletters and when the visitors click the buy button, it will redirect them to clickbank order page.

I'm not sure this is legit. Probably you should check with clickbank.

      Yes!!

You should make your own page, because then you can control any opt in e-mails on the page. Then IF your prospect becomes a buyer, send them to the Clickbank link for the purchase. Remember, your site, your rules!!

YES, I wrote how to put the links so you get credit on a blog last year - Click Bank Link

I suggest you get permission of the person who created the product first.

As a vendor, I wouldn't have a problem with this except that I encountered a situation a few years back when somebody was offering a guarantee far in excess of my actual guarantee, as well as telling people they'll have personal consultations (with me) on the product, and even on stuff that had nothing to do with the product at all.

I did manage to contact them, and their justification was "You should be happy I'm making sales for you".

    Arseholes.

    Clickbank evidently thought so too.

They are not selling your product, they are selling there version of your product.

Would you have a issue if they were accurate in representing you? (Until I read your post, I really thought this was a no brainier)

No, they were selling MY product as a Clickbank affiliate in the same way Brett is asking about, but, in doing so, were trying to commit ME to stuff I never agreed to.

    I agree with Thomas.
If you are going to replace the salesletter...why not just create an awesome pre-sales letter instead.

As someone who provides services to someone who has a lot of clickbank products, it can really be a pain if someone else is using a salespage and you decide to change something about the offer or your sales process. We changed to using dlguard, for instance, and changed CB product numbers (and, for those of you who have not used DLGuard, it also includes changing the order link). As it is, we still get a few sales on the old clickbank product numbers.

I have tried this before. I don't anymore because (with the method I was using) if you direct link from your site to the vendor's payment page on Clickbank, your visitor isn't able to leave a cookie.

So, unless they buy then and there, there is a chance you won't be credited for future sales.

You can nudge the cookie in using a few different methods!

Although I will not diculdge these ideas publically as they have been used before in unethical ways, so you can PM me for my method of doing it.

You can easily remedy this by setting the cookie yourself before they leave your site.
