How to Test My Site Further

I have a new product I launched about a month ago and in terms of traffic and the niche it's in I'm doing fantastic. However, those hits are not converting at the moment so I know I need to do some work on my copy.

That said, I'm currently waiting for a redesign on the page's graphics (I had a major mixup with the original graphics - honestly should have waited to launch, but I didn't so now I feel like I'm wasting that traffic). As such, I'm not sure if I should make any changes to the copy until after the graphics are done.

Is it worth waiting to see how much of an impact a much prettier page makes or should I start split testing the copy now before I waste too much more traffic?

    Hi chtfld.

Yes, it is worth waiting to see how much of an impact a prettier page makes. I agree with testing EVERYTHING.

Once you know which graphics were better then simply just start testing the headings and sub-headings first. This is the most important thing to test.

Then, once that is 100% sorted then test your sales copy.

    Hope this helps,

    Mike

    Hi,

When you say you're doing fantastic in terms of the traffic and niche you are in, how much traffic are you getting? If that traffic is not converting, do you mean you are making no sales at all?

I would start split testing but it's hard to judge as I don't know what your numbers are so far.

    Many Thanks

    Rich

I'm averaging about 250+ hits a day right now, all of it relatively well targeted from affiliates and articles, but I'm lucky to get a sale every 2-3 days. So, I'm pretty well below 1% in the conversion department.

I have to mention though that I got the new graphics up last night (my designer came through faster than expected), and I've already made two sales. It's only been 12 hours, but that's already more than I had all week. I have a feeling the page still needs some work, but it's nice to see something making a positive impact already.

I would test only one thing at a time and test the control
