A/B testing feature for landing page builder

Hi All,

I am considering two different landing page builders. One has the capability to do A/B testing and the other one does not. How important is it to have this feature if I will only have one domain for now? Not sure if A/B testing can be done with only one domain...

I'm more leaning to purchasing the one that doesn't have this feature built in and this is the only thing that is stopping me from buying.

Opinions and advice will be appreciated.

Thanks

I can't stress enough how important it is to have this feature

Think of your landing/squeeze page as an MMA fighter

you gotta put your MMA fighter through MMA school dont you.?

that's what A/B testing does, it pits your Squeeze pages against each other to see who is the best and strongest.

heaven forbid you send an unproven fighter into the octagon,

    he's going to get smashed!

Thank you aizaku. So A/B testing can be performed if I only have one domain?

I'm picking between Instabuilder 2.0 with A/B testing capability and Thrivethemes landing pages without it.

Thrivethemes have another product which is called Thrive leads and does have A/B testing, but looks like it is more suitable for full websites and not opt in pages which is what I'm trying to build.

        that's not a problem.

i use thrive leads (A/B testing included) to turn my site into a giant catchers mitt for leads..
        https://thrivethemes.com/leads/

but for stand alone squeeze page i edit my own using NVU

i got some amazing squeeze page templates from Fiverr..

I rotate them (A/B testing) with my own tracker on my VPS.

        but you could use these:

          Thank you!

I guess I was right then that Thrive leads is for more full blown advanced sites. If you were in my shoes and wanted to get a nice landing page builder would you pick Instabuilder 2.0 with A/B testing or Thrive landing pages (no A/B testing)?

The reason I'm so stuck on Thrive is that they have a much better sales page and graphics as well as claim to have their templates optimized for conversion.

          Thanks

yes thrive leads is for a wordpress website..

as for stand alone squeeze page i'd just use my own..

id edit with NVU and get pro looking squeeze page templates from fiverr,.

id also use rotator to split test.

i cant speak on the options you presented.

    best of luck,

Let me define what A/B testing is:

A/B testing (sometimes called split testing) is comparing two versions of a web page to see which one performs better. You compare two web pages by showing the two variants (let's call them A and B) to similar visitors at the same time. The one that gives a better conversion rate, wins!

So A/B testing can't be done for a single website or landing page. You can sign-up for landing page builder which doesn't has this feature. Let me know if you have any question and I will be happy to assist you.

Once you get accustomed to Thrive Themes interface you can still hammer out squeeze pages pretty quick as well as use many of the prefab pages they have in their template cloud, make some quick tweaks and be on your way. I do agree that they are set up more for in-depth marketing websites rather than pre-sale pages, and tools like Instabuilder will probably get you up and running faster.

    Thank you for your responses.

I'm still a little confused as to whether I can do split testing with one domain as Ike above said it shouldn't be a problem. I guess I can ask both providers and see what they say.

All you need for split testing is two web pages. So, they could be yourdomain.com/page1 - yourdomain.com/page2.

There are many services that offer split testing. GetResponse offers landing pages with split testing capabilities. Services like ClickMagick also allow split testing.

My company uses Optimizely -- it's a little expensive but absolutely worth the investment. It allows you to easily build pages and then A/B test literally anything on the page and display different pages to different viewers in real time.

Thank you all! I'll go with a paid service, but just out of curiosity: what is the deal with Wix? Is it as easy as they advertise it and is anyone using it?

Ok, I was looking at Thrivethemes, who don't have A/B testing yet, but they have a tutorial for free A/B testing using Google analytics:

Any thoughts or experiences with that?

    Thanks
