Do WSO buyers want honesty?

I've been online for a while now. Most of the time was spent behind the scenes, learning and providing services. Not any more. I'm now interested in creating eBooks and infoproducts ( I'm thinking so far in the future that I'm actually planning my own publishing house AND affiliate program ).

Anyway, I thought it would be a great start creating a few products and selling them here, as WSOs. However, looking at the top sellers and at what most people promote here, I see that:
  1. most products are targeted to lazy people ( things like "make a gazillion golden coins by tomorrow with no investment/website/experience... ). Which, by the way, is generally a half truth ( and a half truth is always a lie )
  2. most WSO are copypasted from other WSOs that are copypasted from other WSOs ( creating an Inception on copy paste... where's Di Caprio when you need him? )
  3. many are affected by the Shiny Object Syndrome and just jump from one "secret formula" to the next "secret formula"
  4. after reading this post I have the confirmation that many Sellers ( including top sellers ) are just selling stuff that only aims to sell you more
So, I was wandering: does honesty sell here on the Warrior Forum?

Because, after year of actual experience, I can share a thing or two. But, if I create a product and I put my name on it, I want to be 100% honest. Which means telling things that lazy people don't want to hear.

At the same time, creating and selling an eBook on this platform would get me a lot of targeted visibility for a low investment.

What do you think?

Unfortunately honesty does not sell in this industry... What does sell are promises, half truths, myths, guarantees of Easy Money...

And super awesome lazy machines that can make you money overnight like the gurus...

But this is also my point: don't people that buy this things get it that making business online is a lot of work and not a series of lame tricks?

After all, fooled me once shame on you. Fooled me twice shame on me. Fooled every single damn time...

Yes they do, just not round here much.

The WSO section hasn't grown up yet, I'm not sure if it ever will.

When it comes to Internet Marketing (and a whole mess of other niches) you sell people what they THINK they want (fast cash, tons of money, freedom, etc.) and then give them what they NEED (information on building a list, traffic tips, sales funnel advice, etc.)

There are a few people who want honesty over hype but not enough to sell low cost items through WSOs (since you stated you wanted to use this platform). Not anymore.

    For the most part, no.

    No experience necessary!

Yes it will and it does.If you put out an WSO with half truths, you will undoubtedly get more sales.Your call.Your honesty and integrity would be appreciated by me though.

    Well, this is honest too...

There are some lazy ways to make money online. They do exist, but usually require exploiting loop holes that have a limited duration and then end.

My sister found a big, big loop hole on a certain marketplace a couple of years ago that allowed her to make lazy extra money (over $52,000 in a year), and she only had to do maybe 30 minutes of easy work about 1 time every three weeks or so.

But it lasted 1 year and 1 month and then got shut down and she got banned.

Short term, if you can find something like that, it can pay off. I think a lot of WSOs you see are from sellers who found loop holes and then when the strategy started to fail, they decided to sell it.

Nobody in their right mind is going to sell a strategy that is making them a killing for cheap to a bunch of goobers who will get the strategy shut down faster.

      Yep.
Most of the lazy ways either exploit or are short lived quick money that does not turn into any sustainable long term income.

I did a Craiglist system many years ago. I bought this WSO and it was placing Ads to CPA in different Niches on their Platform. It worked for awhile and was sooo easy until they changed some Rules and then it went South.

      Amen to this!

Although this stuff can work and be quite lucrative...

It's just a matter of time before it gets "outed" and is no
longer gonna work because you get banned or you get
the smackdown from Google or whatever.

Think long-term and you can avoid having to look for all
      of these loopholes.

Lots of them say they do. There's no shortage of whining rants about sellers of GRQ scams, outdated and rehashed info, etc. Trick is, the only way they know the info is rehashed is because they've already bought it one or more (usually more) times before.

The same whiners then turn around and beg for step-by-step, paint-by-numbers plans that require not effort or investment. One even had the gall recently to ask for people to build up the business and then turn it over to him.

There's been an ad running for a TV show called "Last Man Standing".

Mike and Vanessa (the parents) are sitting on the patio relaxing when Mandy (teen daughter) enters.

Mandy: Hi. Can I have some money for the Jamba stand at the mall?

Mike: Why don't you just do what other people do when they need money?

Mandy: Get my own reality show on TV? Working on it...

Mike: No, get a part time job.

    Mandy: OMG, are we poor?

Mike: You're poor. We're doing very well...

The reason you see so many sketchy, pie in the sky WSOs is because this forum is now filled with thousands of Mandys looking for a handout.

Focuses on creating your own quality product will help you a long way. Don't take the shortcut by throwing up something with catchy headline just to sell. Be honest and try to help your customers as much as you can will put you ahead from your competitors.

Nowadays, there are so many of overnight internet gurus who are more interested in people's money rather than helping them. Focusing in helping people first rather than the rewards. If you show your sincerity, people will appreciate it and your rewards in terms of monetary and respect will follow shortly.

Honesty sells among people who are experienced or even semi-experienced in web marketing/affiliate marketing, SEO, etc... However, the majority of these money making e-books you see are designed to sell to people that are not us.

A friend of mine explained it well many years ago when I first started with affiliate marketing. He had a landing page and on it he redirected visitors to an affiliate link, but they had to enter their name and email address first. I asked him why he forced them to fill in their email, and didn't at least have another link for people who didn't want to and might leave because of it.

He said, I don't care about those people who will leave the site because of the email form, if they won't enter their email then they certainly won't pull out their credit card and end up buying the product. I don't care about those people, they aren't going to buy anything anyways.

And that stuck with me. We are marketing products to people like us who really think about a purchase before we pull out our credit card, we're mostly targeting people who make impulse buys. And that's why landing pages are just one big infomercial and many market money-making guides...because it works.

Frankly speaking, because of the competitive nature of the WSO forum, for your product not to be lost in the crowd, some hype will be needed to move it, failing that, it will get lost.

I for one, barely bother to click on WSO's with very few views. No marketer would wish that for himself. Hence, an over the top headline and out of this world selling to finish the job

I will say this, I think WSO buyers WANT honesty, because everybody wants to get what they pay for, and want their money to be spent well.

On the other hand I think honesty can be good for selling too, but no matter what you sell you have to market it well, and sometime it does involve using marketing tactics to catch a reader's attention and increase the perceived value of that product. That being said, it doesn't mean you have to be dishonest.

I remember one marketer who said a really smart thing that stuck in my head: "You can easily sell dogshit, if it's covered in gold, but you will have a hard time selling gold if it's covered in dogshit"...

In other words, you can be 200% honest with whatever product you create, but you'll need to MARKET it for people to buy it. That means your product will need to appeal to people looking to make money online...And most people, especially beginners, have no patience - they want money NOW, they want it easy and they want loads of it.

So if your product is going to be targeted at total newbies, then it will have to be marketed in a way that will be attractive to them. No one wants to know that it took you 6 months to make 20 bucks, but everyone will pay $$$ to learn how you made $58,412 in 35 days on autopilot doing nothing, but lying on sofa watching TV and drinking beer.

    That's human nature for you.

From what I have seen, while people appreciate honesty, they don't want to do hard work and want a magic formula to create instant or quick results.

The people who are willing to work seem to only be interested in putting in an hour or two a day for a week then are prepared to give up if it doesn't work for them. IM takes time to learn and master and the majority of methods and techniques take time and testing to get results from.

It's like most things in life where the more that you practice something, the more experience you gain and increase your chances of success over time.

I'd say try it out, see if you can find that target audience here on the WF.

I'm not sure how effective it will be myself, but remember that some of
these people are on Facebook as well.

I had a little WSO I sold here on and got a few sales, found a small market
with a little product that didn't have a lot of hype.

I say if you can get on here and sell a WSO, get a few buyers then put
out another solid WSO and another with high-quality, no fluff, information
you can build up an audience of not so lazy people over time.

Unfortunately, the "get rich quick" crowd is the most prevalent here on
    the WF I believe.

Find dem diamonds in the rough and cherish em lol.

These products are mostly in the making money online niche.
And many of the target audience in this niche are lazy folks that can't bother actually working hard.
Not all the people that buy digital products are like that.
You just gotta define your target market pretty accurately.
I have to say that many wso I bought were crap.
Not enough depth to them even if the info was ok.
The actual good products I learned from were from the big guys like Jay Abraham,Kern, Ryan Deiss, Todd Brown and many more.
These guys aren't making wsos or even active in this forum.
I guess they are too busy with their own marketing funnels and email lists.
You can try making maybe more Internet Marketing wso and not mmo.
Cause yes many of the mmo folks online looking for a quick buck.

NO..100% not. Even if you try to warn them they get angry at you for trying to steal their dreams. I am done trying to help. Most are too stupid to see they are being fleeced.

    WSO template:

Easy money, anyone can do it, <1 hour day, $XXXX per month, per day...

Never use common sense or ask the simple question that will stop you being ripped off.

NO-ONE in their right mind would give away their business system IF IT really did as they say it does.

    Adios!!!!

I've seen it happen, but only when the ship is sinking and just before everything goes down, they sell off their method, the whole campaign, saying it's all "copy/paste", but then you don't realise that there will be 1000 other people with the same information that you have

Some of you may remember, "gurus" selling their Adwords campaigns in the past, claiming they made them thousands - probably it was true, but those campaigns would be useless to anyone after being sold to xxxx number of people.

That is why whenever I purchase something from someone, I don't pay attention on how beautiful the landing page is, how big the claims they say and how amazing the income proofs they show. The one that will trigger me on to buying the product is the product creator's reputation -- this way, you can't be lied
