Clickbank Sales Dragging Slow!

I find these 2 weeks sales dropped to the bottom of the Ocean!

Never had such bad sales before, anyone experience the same or just me?

I'm doing clickbank affiliate products, if this continue, I better focus on selling my own products!

May be you are right, I hope this thread can confirm few things:

    1. The economy is bad
    2. Certain niche still doing well
    3. Clickbank tracking is good
    4. Product owner is better than affiliate marketer

Anyone has some opinion to share??

I thought the economy was (maybe should use 'is') bad. However, during this labor day weekend, there are so many people in the mall, make me feel maybe the economy is recovering? or, simply because people has no other places to go which means the economy is really bad,

from the job market I tracked, economy is still going bad (or, worse).

I have been an affiliate for CB products for a few years now and the random patterns have bewildered me for some time. I have $200+ days and weeks with nothing ... I don't know what to say. On a positive note: I have developed some of my own products and do not soley rely on CB any longer.

My sales for the last 1 week have also dropped off a cliff (probably 50% down), and I'm a vendor so this has nothing to do with clickbank's systems, or affiliate tracking or anything like that. Sales were really bad the week of Sept 1st. The week before that was solid, and I'm seeing some signs of life this week

    ... for what that's worth there's my 2 cents.

You are right, and I do smell something fishy here...

Although some of the "clickbank expert" might not be agree with me, but I'm pretty sure something is going on here.

Yesterday I created a new account, guess what? The sale gone up to the roof! What does that means? I've no conclusion, you figure it out.

Jeremy keep telling people to create new account for this kind of situation, I did try in the pass with no luck, but today - I'm convinced.

I'm not sure if this happens to the Global affiliate or just some countries, my guess is only few countries with high fraud are affected, or else everyone will be complaining by now...

I must admit the economy did affect the sales, but I don't think that "much"!! The pattern is very strange...

I'm surprise to see the Vendor affected that much as well, because I heard that clickbank will credit you with the sale even if affiliate don't get the commission.

Any product owner have same experience? I'm trying to gather more information and figure out what is happening here....

        Mine picked up.

Have you ever tried keeping a 20 or 30 day moving average of your sales?

I did this a while back for several months and learned that seemingly "slow" periods when flattened out over a moving average were not really alarming at all.

I notice over the pass months, sales are slow during month end, and pickup to normal in every beginning of month, until yesterday!

Yesterday I created new account and today the sales bounce back! Something is not right here...

There are many factors may be affecting the sale, but something is not right with clickbank affiliate tracking, I'm going to try doing my own products, using clickbank and payapl together, I will be able to figure out if clickbank is also ripping off the vendor.

I've been seeing clickbank sales running great during the beginning of each month for 4 months now, until this month!

Before the super slow dragging period begin about 2 weeks ago, I've a spike of sales doing great for a week! Then the sudden all slow like h*ll!

I didn't know that, if this is true, hopefully everything will be back to normal?

I've noticed something that started happening a couple months ago, which is that Clickbank tracking is now not working well with link shorteners like tinyurl and others. I use regular hoplinks and the tracking's perfectly fine but all my links which use link shorteners aren't working

Yes it is a crunch in the economy, but a good marketer can still persuade and convince people to buy, regardless... so that's also something else to consider.

It was also just a long weekend, and as I noticed, people go away on long weekends. It's called HOLIDAYS... so you may also consider that during times like that when both America and other nations are observing holidays... that people may not be purchasing quite as much.
You are missing the point here... please read it carefully, we are trying to figure out why people have seen the sales bounce back to normal when created new clickbank account, and there has been many reports on this, do the research yourself.

I'll try to focus on making my own product and see what is the result. I hope this thread can gather more information, may be just because of a long holiday.

BTW, is the holiday ends? Today, tomorrow?

Please tell me I'm wrong, you guys are making a lot of sales...

Just a line or 2, I want to gather more information. Thanks!

I'm a vendor, sales have been fine. Sunday was slow, but as people have stated it was Labor Day weekend in America and lots of people were out and not at their computer and shopping. Monday was the last day of the holiday, and Tuesday things went back to normal. Sales for me really picked up since Monday night.

      Thanks for confirming that!

I'm having a slow sales for 2 weeks, the holiday is just Monday right?

It seems like affiliate from certain areas would have this create new account and sales bounce back problem, not every affiliate affected...?

I have also witnessed an overall drop in sales in recent months in Clickbank. But I don't think there's much we can do about it. Also being a CB affiliate for years, I noticed my CB sales have never been even and steady. Sometimes it's more than $100/day for the whole week, and after that is a series of days without a single sale.

I also know that I lose a lot of sales due to payment page problem CB has, on the average, for every 10 order form submit counts, I get like 6-7 net sales.
I wouldn't stop promoting CB products though, as it's still profitable and they always pay on time and efficiently. The only advice is only not to put all of your eggs in one basket, try to diversify the products you promote in various affiliate networks. Multiple income streams are least risky.

I have bought the products i want to promote through my own link. By clicking on "create hoplink" and then using the upper link to buy the product. With 3 of the products i have bought it has my user name in the Url but on the payment page it says "affiliate= none" at the bottom on 2 products and "Affiliate=referralin" on the other. When i bought the products the sales did not come up on my sales report. Does anyone know how i can fix this?

I sell a retail product (not Clickbank) and my sales dropped from an average of 9-12 sales/day to 1 on Monday and 2 yesterday :-/. I will see by the end of the week if it picks up as people get their paychecks usually at the end of the week. I think maybe it was just weirdness surrounding the holiday weekend, but my traffic has been great so I don't know why people can't pull out their credit cards to get a free trial. I don't know what I am doing wrong, is there something up with Adwords? I am getting more clicks as well, I hope there is no tracking issue.

My sales have really slowed down this week too. I think it has to do with the fact school how now started and many parents have just returned from the long weekend and spending money is probably short on their priority list right now.

One way to overcome this is if you sell your own product and drop your price 15% calling it a "Back To School Special"

If you're promoting using email marketing for example, then fluctuations will be normal. Some promotions will do good, others not so well.

If the drop in sales is from passive, residual sources, then there might be cause for concern if the slump continues for a few weeks or months. If it's just a few days, I wouldn't quite press the panic button yet.

Another reason might be that newer and better products have entered the market place, so just switch your affiliate links to these 'in vogue' products and track your results.

I do wonder when I see his sort of thing if it's down to the economy or Clickbank itself is behind on it's technology, if it's becoming dated.

If you aren't running your own business of Franchising then affiliate marketing is still the way to go, and online is better than online unless you are really good at the old style NFL NH thing.

Of course, what you want is fast turnaround, and it's frustrating when that doesn't happen.

For me the past two weeks sales have actually picked up quite a lot. However the 2-3 weeks before that my sales had really bottomed out for some reason, not sure why either.

One thing I can help to confirm:
"3. Clickbank tracking is good" - this seems like its working absolutely fine, as I actually promote my own product through another affiliate account, and all the sales from my aff account have been matching up perfectly with the vendor account.

It's going OK for me nowadays. But 2 days ago, I worked really hard with articles and stuff and got about 3 times the hops I normally do. And zero sales. (My sales are usually $100+/day) I am ABSOLUTELY sure that something went wrong with Clickbank there.

And frankly I think CB's tracking system sucks.

The economy is bad! general sales across the board are down offline and online. I am trying to stay away from (high gravity) products as the competition is so high, I am also staying away from old stale products that have been around for awhile and every man and there dog are promoting.

We just have to get smarter I think!

And frankly I think CB's tracking system sucks.
I'm not so sure, but until now I've yet solid prove that clickbank tracking has problem, just only the experience is not too good.

I can have a full week of crazy sales and suddenly all gone, may be this is just a normal spike?

We just have to get smarter I think!

I get the most refunds in last week than the average of last 2 years, anyone experience the same...?

I do a fairly large volume on CB, with consistant sales, for well over 2 years....

Sales have been excellent the past few months, however starting Tuesday I have noticed:

          1) Traffic decreased about 25 - 35% to all / most of my sites

          2) Sales decreased slightly more than that - maybe 45 - 50%

I honestly believe that this is simply a case of 90% of American schools starting again. The days of summer where people are home during the day are done for the year. I believe we will see very good weekends and slow weekdays until the winter holidays...

This may just be my niches, but those are my thoughts....

          Anyone else seeing this?
