keyword planner question

Hi everyone!

So i have a question. I was checking keywords using google keyword planner and when i tried the word " hot or not " it showed me 1 million search results per month with no competition.

I also own the domain hotornot.fr which is the extension for France. I also speak french fluently.

So do you think i should build this site? Will it generate traffic?

Im really not an expert in this sector so any suggestion would be appreciated.

Did you look it up on Google France ? or global ?

What you can do is do a landing page ( I don't know what the keyword yet ), and create something relevant to the niche and you can start promoting affiliates once u able to get your site ranked ( you will need to get your website ranked on the keyword even if the keyword match the name it wouldn't rank automatically

It appears the DEMAND is there but the search term is in ENGLISH and your site will be in FRENCH.

Do the search with the LOCATION SETTING set to FRANCE

    A different picture should emerge

There might not be ENOUGH DEMAND to make it worth while

Also, check if HOTORNOT.COM is trademarked because you might end up GIVING up the .fr extension due to ICANN rules

Its trademarked only in USA but not in France.
In France there is 100k search per month for hot or not but you could always double check. Thanks

Check France's Trademark laws. I owned the domain paidtofb.com, and used Facebook's own API on it (which they verified and accepted) for years to pay people to use Facebook through my site. Several months ago, I got an email from my hosting provider telling me they received a cease and desist letter from a company that was outsourced by facebook to hunt down trademark infringers. Even though Facebook itself allowed me to create and use the site, the legal company they hired sent a C&D to my hosting provider, which shut it down. No chance to argue, no chance to fight it, it got shut down immediately. I had to wait a month and pay a lawyer thousands to start an argument to get it back, and it just wasn't worth it. So I had spent months building a site that cost me hundreds to develop and run, just to lose it all right when it started to pay off.

How can a keyword have 1 million search results per month with no competition? Does that sound realistic to you?

If that was the case, then any idiot would buy a EMD, slap some Adsense on it and bank until there's no tomorrow.

To answer your question, no you shouldn't, because:

    A. Marketing English content using a French TLD is not the best idea
    B. The competition for that keyword will be ridiculous
    C. You are too late to the party

Firstly, did you search for hot or not with or without " "?

If you add the inverted commas to words google will search for a specific phrase. I did the search and I saw that there are quite a few hotornot websites running, but to answer your question:
Even if you have a brilliant name and there is no competition, you will not automatically get traffic to your website.

In order to get traffic you need to look at your SEO, backlinking and targeted ads.

According to what you said if there is no competition level then your website can come on top in short span of time. Go for SEO of your websites including promotional activities for the branding of your business. You should also concentrate on SMO practices done by the SEO expert.

    Thanks
