Market Samurai And Google tool differs A LOT

I have found at least 10 keywords in the last 20 minutes in market samurai that shows over a thousand searches a day then I plug that keyword into Google keyword tool and it shows not enough data.

Anybody else experience this?

I always just trust Market Samurai because I have had great success with them for all the keywords and niches I have found using them.

Google keyword search goes by monthly search volume and Market Samurai goes by daily search volume. Also Market Samurai collects and parses data from more than one source so after seeing the results I'm having with it I tend to lean towards MS...

Besides, Google goes way out of whack sometimes... reminds me of a ***Nope not gonna say it ***

I use Micro Niche Finder, so take this with a grain of salt... but I've noticed that MNF uses the "exact" search by default. Google's Adwords Search Tool uses "broad" as the default search mode. This will obviously create what looks like discrepancies. MS might do something similar. Sync them up and the numbers might then coincide. Works that way with MNF, anyway.

Thaks for the tip. However I already knew that and it still throws some whacky numbers.

I use Market Samarai and although I've found it to be reasonably on par with Google results, I have found a couple that are a LOT different.

    Having said that.......

I have one keyword phrase that when I first found it and created my site - about 2 months ago - there were only around 14,600 exact phrase matches. Then a couple of weeks later I purchased Market Samarai and that came up with around 1,600,000 exact phrase matches for the same keyword phrase and yet every time I checked Google I still got around 14,600.

Now a couple of months on and I check the exact phrase in Google and it is now coming up with 1,800,000 exact matches. So the figures are now on par with Market Samarai but I don't know how it jumped from such a low number to such a high number in such a short period of time.

Google is very conservative when it comes to search volume..

Some keyword with "not enough data" turn to get alot of traffic, either paid or organic..
don't trust google counts that much, and in general, don't take any tools predictions seriously, compare the results from different tools and choose the keywords showing good numbers in most of them

Also remember that there are multiple Google centers from which Market Samurai pulls their data from. Google doesn't give you all the search info as they have some proprietary info held back from the public.

I have been seriosly burned by the Google tool before. You know when you think you hit a jackpot keyword, buy the domain seo the hell out of it get it to page 1 and get 1 visitor every 3 days from it.

I am fairly new to Market Samurai, I think I'm gonna trust MS over Google and ee what happens

      Cheers

yes I waisted months targeting a keyword showing 900 search a day in MS, truth is 20 search a day.. nearly smashed my laptop when I realized it..
From now on I only trust PPC campaigns, they are reliable enough.

Well, how you can tell the truth?

is there a method to discover the true value of the KW before spending money and effort targeting it?

any idea how they pull the data?? Do they use Adwords API or just scrap the google keywords tool. The difference between both i.e google keyword tool and MS is big so I am not sure if MS is accurate. Also I enter "seed" keyword and look for keyword suggestions on google keyword tool, I get bunch of keywords, but when I do the same with MS, i get diferent keywords altogether. If they are scarping from google, shouldn't it be same.
