19 Years Old, Starting My Affiliate Marketing Business

Hello everyone I am 19 years old and not new to making money online. I got into internet marketing at 16 ish' years old and have working at it since. I'm currently working a job that I started in high school at 18, and I'm sooo ready to quit. Don't get me wrong my employer is a good guy, but I feel like could be earning & accomplishing a LOT more.

Better to bust my ass now while I'm still young and able....

I've invested close to $2k on various projects, courses, products, services, etc over the years. And haven't earned much money at all a little over $500 dollars, but I WANT THIS. I know it is possible to make a full living online, because I have already made a little money. Even though I wasn't close to being profitable.

I set up a few bing ads campaigns on Monday and tested them out. I had a $100 coupon to test, so I didn't spend any cash out of pocket. My goal was to see if I could get conversions with first page submit offers from Peer Fly paying anywhere from $2-$3. Here were my results:


My CTR was really really good. Clicks were expensive, and no conversions. But it was only a test.

- Eventually Create My Own Product, After I Hit Goals
- Large Profitable Buyer List of 10k+

Solo Ad Testing Budget ($200-$300)
*Will test out each solo ad seller 100 clicks at a time

PLAN/PROCESS:
1. Paid Traffic ($0.35/Click)
2. Squeeze Page (40%-50% Opt-in Rate)
3. Low Cost Offer from Warrior Plus ($7-$10)
4. Backend List Promotion of Other Affiliate Products (Higher Price, $15-$19)

$100/PER DAY MATH:
Goal Scenario:
- 100 Solo Ad Clicks @ $0.35/Click = $35 Total
- 40%-50% Opt-in Rate = 40-50 New Subscribers ($0.88-$0.70 Per Subscriber)
- $35 / $8 Product = 4.375 Sales - Need 5 Sales To cover Cost of Traffic = $40
- 5 Sales / 40-50 New Subscribers = 10%-12% of List Are Buyers

*Let's assume that realistically, half of buyers on my list will buy from me one more time through email.

-So if I have a list of 3,000 and 10%-12% are buyers, That is 300-320 Buyers
-Ex. I sell another affiliate product from JV Zoo or Warrior Plus for $19 with 100% Commissions & Half of Buyers on list make a purchase (150 to 160)= Est. $2,850 to $3,040


Basically my plan is to collect emails & cover the costs of solo ads with a low cost front end offer, and profit on the backend through my autoresponder.

Let me know what you guys think of my plans, tell me if I'm still dreaming or if it's somewhat realistic!

    Of course it is realisitic. You can do much better than that as well.

    The key is to know that you are going to fail a lot until you become successful.

    Sometimes you hit it good right off the bat but mostly you'll fail a few times before getting profitable. You have to learn from each failure and never stop trying.

    Great plan! All depends on the chosen product, targeted audience, sales copy etc.

    Also having a blog with reviews, comparisons, social comments and shares etc. would greatly help too for higher conversion rates.

    You're on the right track! At 19 y.o. having a full time job, plus trying to get your game established online,you're far better off than most people your age and a lot more disciplined and organized by many much older than yourself. Don't give up on your dream, it is quite attainable and you are definitely on the right path.
    Never forget that failures are in themselves successes. Once you realize or learn what isn't working, you have succeeded in not doing it again. Some of our mistakes are more costly than others.
    The fact that you have a well thought out plan, and know what it takes to succeed, leads me to believe you are going to be living the life you dream of soon enough.

    It seems that you have spent some quality time to put all your business plan and numbers together.

    Now, you need to test it. You are giving so many numbers, rates and conversion rates which once tested will vary, some of them will be better and others will be worst.

    The plan is viable and you can make it work. Please, update us in your journey!

    I like your approach, but to get rich this way is very rough. I found this out the hard way. What I think you should be doing is try to monetise your front end. You actually hit the nail on the head by the way: collect emails to cover the cost of advertising.

    But you want to make a PROFIT from that, not just cover your cost. Also, here's a nice little tip: try and avoid selling a product but let a merchant do it for you. These emails you collect (for any market really) can be extremely valuable, so the trick is to sell the emails and let someone else do all the selling ... which includes a basic product and then doing the whole back end stuff.

    I figured out a long time ago that I concentrate on the marketing aspect and just sold these emails to someone else at a big margin to cover my advertising cost AND leave a profit margin, it's a much more lucrative business model

    But you're on the right track young pilgrim - nothing beats someone with enough guts to chase his dreams. I tip my hat to you Sir!

      Great response Nick! Are you referring to lead generation for other businesses? Wouldn't it be more profitable for him to keep the email to himself and perhaps sell them more than one product over time?

    If this is what you expect you will be very disappointed.

    For $0.35 a click, you get robots.

    Stick with PPC and learn it. Your money will have a much better chance of producing an ROI.

    Making a full time income online is possible. It's obvious that you've put a lot of thought and planning into this. The bad news it, that's the easy part. It's fun to play with the numbers and think of the potential. It's much more difficult to actually do it, as you saw with those Bing ads.

    The good news is that it can be done, if you stick with it, continue to learn, and don't lose your enthusiasm along the way.

    If you are planning to stick with PPC (Bing Ads), I would suggest you to read as much possible about running campaigns.

    There are so many variables that can make or break a campaign, so it's very important you understand every aspect of running a campaign.

    1. Targeting - normally I just go for US/Canada

    2. Keywords/ad groups - try to keep them as relevant as possible, make use of broad-match modified keywords and neg irrelevant/broad keywords

    3. Include your keywords in the ads, so group keywords neatly, which will make it easier to write ads for them

    4. Run search reports on daily basis to see what keywords are generating clicks for you

    5. Keep an eye on your landing page and see how you can improve its CTR - I usually aim for at least 30% CTR to the main sales page.

    nice work. I think that is a really achievable plan. You just have to be sure to choose the right affiliate product- one that you are genuinely interested in otherwise selling will not be easy or rewarding- to market. You should also make sure you really study your target audience and identify your buyers persona so that you come up with really good marketing strategies. Another thing I would advice is that you STAY FOCUSED. Don't sell too many products and don't keep changing every-time you see something new or different. Stick to a handful to max 5 products that are carefully selected and go with it. Go with it and never give up and you will exceed your goals by 10.

    This is a fantastic plan!

    My only advice would be to just keep chipping away at it. Even if the plan doesn't come together quick enough for you, or you hit what might seem like roadblocks. Just keep going and you'll get there. Always test and re-test, there's always ways to improve your campaign's. You seem like you've got with will to achieve it, so good luck!

      Facebook groups, like "SOLO AD TESTEMONIALS". People buy solo ads from sellers on FB and post results, I just picked a few that looked quality and had a lot of positive feedback

    @ali97marketing - The key to it all is in the testing. It looks like you're on the right track with how you are approaching things. At 19 years old you have ENERGY in abundance and limited commitments so you are free to give it your all. My advice is don't listen to anything negative - at 19 you could and should be unstoppable as long as you remain focused on your objectives. A couple of years down the line you could be living the lifestyle most people can only dream about. Keep going.

    @mightyone - Yes, that's exactly what they are. Ad copy goes out to the vendors list (the seller). Typically a vendor will charge for a number of unique clicks (again, typically starting at 50 or 100 clicks upwards). Other than feedback which gives you an indication the only way of being sure whether their list is good for YOUR offer is to TEST.

    You've obviously done the ground work and you're not short on passion.

    The only thing I could suggest is to be patient. If you can work your current job and do this after hours you can build up some serious cash and it won't be as hard to go out on your own and achieve your goals.

    You will need to figure out at what point is your break even point, if you're doing the hard yards and you're not getting the money in it will be a challenge so just remember that sometimes when things get tough it is totally worth pursuing your goal as it does always get better.

    Some months cash flow doesn't always work the way you plan, it's important to have a range of revenue streams to protect yourself.

    At the end of the day, what have you got to lose.

    I see you are really set on paid ads which is probably one of the best ways people make money. Since you seem to be starting out you should also try to create your own content, and look for free traffic sources as well. It might not apply, but based on the MMO offer I saw there it does.

    Just a suggestion, you seem really motivated so you could do good, and sometimes it is best to focus on one thing. However, try and see the other traffic possibilities.

    The real reason i say this is because it can be easier to learn this business by starting with free traffic sources, because if you don't succeed you can burn through money fast when paying. At the same time, if you get a good campaign it can be way faster and better, so its up to you
