Hey I'm new to internet marketing

Hey,
I've been tinkering around with a facebook page on fitness and have managed to accumulate 13000 likes. I'm thinking of selling a product on it does anyone have any experience or advice on going about which product to choose and/or any pitfalls?
Thanks in advance,
Isaac

Marketing as a whole i would have to say testing.

Always be willing for something to fail before you succeed.
Fitness is an absolute great niche to get into, there's no doubt that there are a lot of people looking into several products retaining to this.

For your product.. Are you creating your own or are you thinking along the lines of promoting with an affiliate link?

With 13,000 likes i would start out something small, unless you have a good community that is, maybe a simple info product about a work out or a massive review on the latest treadmill, ETC.

      Thanks for your reply.
I did have a crack at a clickbank affiliate link but wasn't able to pay to promote it on my page due to restrictions so it only got like 600 impressions.
Ideally I would like to dropship a product because it would be more scalable to sell a treadmill for example because of the more widespread appeal.
Writing a review is a great idea to add value thanks

Fitness is a great niche to get into! Well, what I'd do is something along the lines of joining a affiliate network like:

ClickBank, Commission Junction, Peerfly, Neverblue, JVZoo for starters and see what kind of fitness offers you can find. Then, I would try and buy a domain with a 301 meta redirect to that affiliate offer and post that up on your facebook page (Make sure it's a featured post so it sits on the top).

I would even go as far as making a picture to go along with the post with a tool like Canva.
Remember that content that has eye catching images captures 75% more!

This should be a good starting point.

    Hi Isaac

FB won't let anyone post affiliate links and they actually don't like people posting links that take people away from facebook at all. Marketers can get around this by posting a url, that isn't a link and telling people to copy and paste the url into their browser. If you can find a good affiliate product you want to promote this would be a good way around it.

    Hope that helps

I think you should go for it and like others have just test the waters and see the reaction you get. There are a lot people you make money off Facebook so there is definitely potential. Although you it may take a few trial and errors before you do get it right.

Personally, I'd run a survey and find out what they want.

Once the results come in... You'll know exactly what they want.

After that, it's just a case of giving 'em what they want, really.

Hope this helps and good luck,

Tee Spring was mentioned above as a source for making t-shirts. Good idea. You might want to also take a look at SunFrog. Good commissions there and you can use t-shirts that are already made (and popular) as well as designing your own.

Create a website where you can drive traffic to from your facebook page. Do affiliate marketing on that website. What kind of products to sell and promote? Ask your audience, or test your engagement rate on a product post/video.

You can post affiliate links on Facebook but you will need to Cloak them first...I agree with the general consensus here...Fitness is a great niche to get into and there are plenty of products on places like Clickbank that perform very well. You might also look into CPA where you can find free trials of supplements to offer to your fans.

Provide value first and monitization will be easy no matter which way you decide to go.

    Hi Isaac,

As mentioned above, I agree that start with T-shirt is great. Thinking about an idea for that T-shirt and hire a designer to do that for you just $10 - $20 for a T-shirt design. The t-shirt is inexpensive and needed that with everyone.

I can't see why you couldn't/shouldn't sell a fitness product on your page, aslong as you believe it will help your subscribers and you don't just spam them over and over again, maybe just test the water and see what reaction you receive from your subscribers.

It’s nice to hear that you were already able to grow your fan base. Great job on that! I run my own Facebook page, and I can imagine where the confusion is coming from. If there is one advice I can give you, it’s to sell a product that represents your brand. Basically, the people who liked your page are the ones who are interested in the services you offer. Use this to your advantage.

You can get started by creating a sense of community within your network. Remember, establishing trust and rapport is crucial in any online business. Then, sell products that speak directly to your target audience and offer deals and promos that can persuade them to buy your products.

Hope this helps & Good luck on your business!

Start your own email list so you can not only make sales there directly not involving any other source but also warm up all of your awesome leads.

By the way, those 13k are real people who engage and have a passion for the topic or they are just random people who never ever leave a simple like?
