Is anyone else finding Hostgator flakey right now?

Nine times out of ten the browser isn't connecting to the server, and when it does the page takes ninety shades of forever to load.

Is anyone else experiencing this, or is it just the internet's way of telling me to pack it in until tomorrow and spend the day drinking beer? I sort of wanted to get some work done today

    Gotta love the internet

My hostgator sites are running ok right now at least on my isp.

Now I had nothing but trouble with namecheap changing dns's earlier.

Always something when you are trying to bang out some work.

Hope it improves for you soon. Though a beer does sound good.

mercury's in retrograde for the last few days and a couple more. If you're not into astrology that won't mean anything. It means a period when communications ie mercury, god of messengers, are harder rather than smoother. I'm just had some major email bungles the last few days too, and back in the days when I managed movie crews, we always looked for mercury in retrograde as a time to be extra extra patient when trying to get things done. Movie work is hard enough without problems.
    So...wait a few days, it'll clear up.

My hostgator account is fine. I host a number of websites and they all seem to be up and running OK.

There may be something in the retrograde Mercury thing. We have postal strikes here at the moment, so I think I'm slowly disconnecting from the world

I think the beer is a good idea too. It's either that or I do something really radical and out of character. Like laundry.

Quite a few of my own members (nearly 15,000 and I know very small in comparison to this gargantuan forum) are experiencing bottle neck problems.

We have also had queries about NameCheap.

As ever though.....eukhost continue to deliver what I can only describe as the best service I have ever come across....and no I am not in any way connected or affiliated to them....we just use them for the academy.

Mine's been fine for the last couple of hours too. It mysteriously righted itself about five minutes before I had to be elsewhere so couldn't do any work anyway. Now I'm back I suppose I'd better get on with something before it changes it's mind again

I have used HG reseller accounts for years and would only ever recommend them for the IM world.

        UNTIL about 6 months ago.

Everything has gone downhill since then... customer support, technical issues and downtime.

And, I have friends with similar stories.

I gave them numerous opportunities to sort issues out and in the end I left.

These weren't small issues either. Some friends set up 'replica' sites using software etc exactly as I had and didnt have issues.

        HG's response...eh sorry...live with it.

        Not good enough.

Any way. RIP HG. It was great while it lasted.

Well I just logged into my cpanel, and checked on a few things, it does appear that they are running a little slower than usual but response times are not too bad, could be a bad sign though, last time this happened there was a big stinking smell, when some guy spilled coffee on a blade,

No problems on my accounts, though 90% of the time it's not the host.

Either corrupt database records which require a repair and optimization thru your Cpanel and phpmyadmin...

Or some other coding problems such as hanging javascript elements like a bookmark button or image.

Your site might just need cleaning and maintenance.
