INTERNET MARKETING

So i finally took some initiative and opened a twitter account( the official one

)

I decided i will do this one by hand, manually with each follower/following being personally screened by me before i follow them or make them my followers..

I really wanted to connect and network so to speak..

But then something happened which put me off..

I am getting lots of follow requests from single girls, i mean lots of them
Which only means 1 of two things:

Either
I am this super stud which single girls can't help but fall for

Or

"e-whoring" has spread to twitter.
(for those who don't know, e-whoring is a common term for affiliate marketers pretending to be girls in chat rooms, to lure a "horny" single guy to sign up for an adult website)

Now if i know myself( and i think i do)

its more likely the second option

( although i look alright

)

Anyone else having the same problem??

Where is consciousness people??

There's no escaping these kinds of marketing techniques no matter if it's Facebook, Twitter or the next big thing.

It's the second one dude, sorry ;-)

I get them from time to time to but not as much as what you're saying. I personally screen each person as well too. The best thing you can do is to mark them as spam and then block them.

What's the problem? There will always be people who think they have to do this stuff in order to make money.

Yups me too getting these kind of requests a lot, but I don't accept them as I have resticted my profile

However, You are right, there are lots of people using Girl's name to get signup to their adult site, they are in chat rooms, social networks and everywhere... even emailing a lotssssssss....really killing spammers...fedup with them a lot.... I have got lots of emails like these and at the end I have closed that account.
So, I have restricted my twitter and other social accounts, so, I am on SAFE

I get them, too - I would think most are just auto accounts and not real people or they wouldn't be wanting me to look at their pics. I don't look for followers. I just do my thing and if someone follows, then I follow them back unless I have an objection - such as I do to auto following me from a porn account. If I keep getting posts I don't like from someone in my flow, I just unfollow them then. I follow anyone at first that I don't have a serious objection to, though (which is restricted to porn and severe left wing liberalism in my case). They might have seen posts of mine that they were actually interested in and I'm not out to insult anyone needlessly. I don't feel like spending a lot of time researching who follows, and it's no skin off my nose if they are following. I'd not get too bent over the auto porners - just ignore them.

The thing that bothers me is i have been active for only three days now and i have had almost 30 requests

Now, that's not the sad part, what pissed me is that nothing on my profile
gives a signal for these kind of requests...

I mean i have posted about thirty tweets 50% of which are conversations and rest are retweets that i found were nice

and nowhere in my profile have i disclosed my interest in "meeting single women", persay...

Now if a person like myself who knows what is actually behind these requests is so vulnerable, what about a person who has no clue whatsoever??

but the point is, twitter is "supposed" to be this new huge thing for people to connect and make contact, it troubles me so see it being "infested" by desperate marketers who would go at any length to make money...

Now this "infestation" would not probably affect those who have already established their grounds, but for a newcomer, this creates a lot of problems, things like these make people scream "bloody scam" at every opportunity they are presented with (it doesn't matter if it is a genuine offer)
And that definitely puts a newbie in a difficult position...

Am i making sense or is this just gibberish???

I get that "Come check out my pics" thing all the time. I just delete it and move on though I've pretty much given on on twitter and prefer facebook.

It's really sad, but what is even sadder is some people actually fall for it. I HATE black hatters. They want to make the money but put there time and energy into fooling people rather than learn a thing or 2 about real business, but I guess marketing keeps them off the streets LOL

I hate spam messages on Twitter - but its inevitable. you'll get it any where. Although I absolutely delete them from my list - so they dont mislead my follower count,

Start blocking the requesters, then move on. It will slow down over time.

You need to discriminate on Twitter just like anything else.

#1: They are not girls

#2 You don't care if they are single.

The only cure is to delete. Rinse and repeat.

I have gotten what seems like dozens of these "followers" as of late.

Concentrate on your real followers.

E-whoring is probably the easiest way to make some fast cash online. The question is... do you really want to pretend being a horny girl and talk dirty to old fat guys just to get that $50-$100? I'd have nightmares for years.

Nice thing about the Twitter e-mail is that it tells you how many followers and how many following. If you're following 2,175 people and two suckers are following you. I'm hitting delete.

I actually went on a date with one of the e-whorers once- Yeah, when the person showed up at the restaurant it was a guy, which was a bummer, but we shared a few beers and actually had a pretty solid man-cation together... Can't really complain...

I did an experiment after opening my first Twitter account. All I saw was advertising and the sex for sale gang.

I opened a second account and made it clear that no one would be allowed to follow me if they put any form of advertising in their messages.

I spent all my time getting rid of the ads and maybe 10 % socializing. After about 3 months of this I finally gave up and let the site go on it's own and it grew like crazy. Of course all the traffic is someone trying to sell something.

Twitter has become the used car lot of the world.

Twitter sucks!
