    Hey Pabda,

It is never too late to start learning any new skill. As long as you are committed, and dedicated you can learn any new skill at whatever age. Just make sure you go out there, and take action.

And when you fail (because you will so get used to it) learn what you did wrong then improve, and take more action.

Keep pushing and you will become successful!!!

To me at least. I believe everyone on the internet is of equal age since we really don't know how old the person on the other side is.

Absolutely you can! As long as you put in the necessary effort to learn what you need to know, I see no specific barrier for a person 50+. Good luck!

Yes, you can still learn internet marketing. It's never too late to start new things! Age is just a number and some people just let their age paralyze them from achieving something great. just keep on going and try out new things.

    Why not.

If you have the drive you can do anything.

I am 35 and started in my business recently and I have no regrets.

If I were you I would take the time to learn your craft and work as you are so that you build up your skills. Take on some jobs and do them to learn and eventually you will know when you are ready to go out on your own.

WF is a great place to get lots of info and you will find that going through old threads will help you find out a heap of great info.

I would ask around re the best place to learn web design, a few people I know have done online courses to learn Wordpress so it really depends if you want to code or not.

    Good luck.

If you think you can, then you can learn it.
If you think you can't, then you can't learn it.

So are you going to let your future depend on what people on an online forum tell you about your ability to learn? Those people have never even met you.

Have belief in yourself and you can do anything you want

    CHOOSE ONE!

    Web designer OR internet marketing.

You can build a profitable business without even know how to set up a single web site.

There are CMS for doing it. Or you can choose Leadpages, and build a list with an opt in page.

The most important thing is PROVIDING CONTENT.

    Hey Pabda,

If you put your mind to it and apply yourself you can learn to build websites and become an internet marketer.

Becoming an expert is a different thing. Like any form of expertise it takes time to master. How much depends on you and what you are prepared to invest both in time and money.

Age is pretty much immaterial providing you are willing and able to learn. Pick one of the two subjects you mentioned Pabda and make a start.

Neither of them are easy but they are doable. Now is a good time to begin.

Life is learning new things, the age is not important.

Many people become giants in their field at the age over 70.

Nothing is impossible, the most important thing is you. If you really really want to become a professional web designer or anything, just make a plan, take action, and never give up.

Don't forget that you can do everything.

Yes you can do anything at any age you set your mind too. However you are asking about two VERY different job roles. Web design and Online Marketing. Not sure what your goals are or the reason behind it, nor do I want to become one. But if you are looking to change careers and become an expert then focus on ONE not both.

I would highly recommend going with online marketing. Much more engaging. I've been in the business for over 15 years. I can build websites but I am not an expert in it. My background is online marketing. I started out building very basic website and then transitioned into online marketing years ago. Now a days there are a wide range of WordPress themes and other platforms that make building a websites a snap in just a few hours.

Online marketing now days is even broken down further into specialists such as content marketing, social media manager, SEO Specialist, Google Adwords, etc. There is SO much to learn in each of these that they are specialists in themselves. The same goes for web developers as well. Many options.

So my advice is find something your passionate about, stick with it and become a sponage and you will do very well. Staying focused and start out small is the key.

    Much success!

hardcore web designing requires much patience, stamina and efforts, but can be doable even you're 60 or more in marginal scale. If you are looking to becoming an expert then its quite challenging. Can you design a large site like CNN from scratch? only experts can do that. If you have the guts then no one can stop you, but its tremendously difficult to becoming an expert at you age when starting out. Most folks say yes, but I would say its marginally feasible.

I'm sure you meant Colonel Sanders (Kentucky Fried Chicken).

McDonalds was started by two brothers in 1940, they would have been 32 and 38 years old. They started a hot dog restaurant around ages 18 to 25 years old. They knew the restaurant business long before age 65.

    Hi:

You can become an expert on any subject you want. Two questions will be how long you stick with what you learn, and will you apply what you learn?

I've heard that life begins at 40 so you are in your teens or 10 years old now....

The science behind this is actually pretty compelling, mainly because there is a real lack of it. We have all heard the expression you cannot teach an old dog new tricks, and it is commonly accepted that generally, it does get harder to learn new things as you age. We know that this has something to do with neuroplasticity and the malleability of the brain at certain stages of life, but we aren€™t exactly sure how that trajectory works. When does it peak? When does the decline begin? While there is probably some more solid scientific reasoning behind fluctuating brain receptiveness that has yet to be discovered, we do know that some of this is totally subjective. It depends on your personal family history of brain function, and your own mental discipline and tendencies on a daily basis.
Personally, I think, or at least hope, that anyone can learn anything at any age if they work hard enough. If you are really willing to put in the effort, really willing to dedicate yourself to the task, then there are no real obstacles to acquiring new knowledge. Especially in this day and age where information is everywhere. So that is a really long way of saying, yes! I believe in you! You can absolutely learn something new at 50, and I suggest you do!

All you need is the will to take action and to chose your sources of information very carefully. Don't let yourself get overwhelmed with the amount of information and ideas out there. Focus on one method that works and keep going till you make it work.

I don't want to post just another very optimistic reply and say "yes, yes, yes, go for it!", because while your age shouldn't hold you back, the question is whether you're willing put in the hours to learn or not?

If you are starting from scratch, then there will be a lot learn and you'll need a lot of practice, so as long as you realize that it won't be easy and you are not afraid of failures, then try it and see how it goes.

Of course you can! 50 is just a number and I don't think that age can stop you from learning web design and internet marketing. I for myself have learned about affiliate marketing later in my life (at 32 years old), and I never realized I'd be so good at it...

Web design and internet marketing is not that hard to learn. You just have to be willing enough to listen... I see your interest. That's why you asked this question. Now the next thing you have to do is to learn the basics and work your way from there until you become and expert...

Why be an expert? You don't need to be an expert to make money in this business.. You only need to be smarter than your buyer which is not that difficult....at all.. Good luck..

The internet doesn't care about your age, you can do whatever you want to do, but you need focus and take action.

50, 60, 70 no big deal. Those are just numbers. It is the fire that is inside you that determines what you can and cannot do. Devote time to learning and you can pretty much do anything you want to do. Watch videos and learn as you go. Spend time on it and it will become second nature. You will surprise yourself. Practice, practice, practice!

Start off with some sort of 'content management system' like Wordpress. You don't need to learn hard code. Just scripting languages like html/css. If you know what kind of site you want to do, ask what is the easiest way to do it and we can guide you

I heard about 50 years old man who is doing a PHD in chemistry so why won't you try that of course it will be hard because every company would like to hire a young man especially in coding field but if you have the luxury of time and constant income you can try your luck and of course there is freelancing where no one know anything about your age you can work from home and establish your own career.

you didn't say you will learn from beginning or you have experience in this field but only asking about finding job because if you have former experience you will know about what you are asking.

there are several sources on internet to learn web programming and internet marketing with step by step instruction. Age is just for mind not for goals , confidence.

Best of luck and start today , now . if you want to start practicing with website building experience parallelly while coding or without coding you can try Boomer Marketing App , Wix , Weebly , Shopify etc.

If a 57 year old woman -- me -- can do it, why can't you?

The good news is, whenever I run across a technical issue I don't want to mess with I can hire someone else to do that part. Then I can focus on the things I do best.

There is no reason you can't do whatever you decide to do as long as you are willing to learn and work hard at it. At 57 years young, I sometimes have to remind younger people that it was my generation that invented and made popular the personal computer and the internet. 😊

Whether you're 50 or 90 ...or 25... the most important questions are:

-Are you out of touch with the world around you?
-Whether you are or aren't... are you willing to learn?

Answer those the right way, and you're golden.

Seriously? Since when was 50 old? I was 53 when I quit my job and went full time doing this stuff. Never looked back. Best decision of my entire life! Quit limiting yourself!

Hey Pabda, First I congratulate you on being here and 2 asking the right question. The answer is, yes you can, but not in a few weeks. What you can do though is begin with the basics and learn how it all works. As soon as you've learned some new things you can sell what you know and teach others. I'm 54 and because I've seen so many people having such a hard time just to get started I created a product. You learn best by doing, one step at a time so you see your results from application. checkout my blog feldmesser.co for free training on this exact subject.
