I noticed that godaddy has .info sites for .89 each. Would you purchase sites with this or pay the $10 for the .com domain name? I have several domains that I want to purchase to use for affiliate sites but I would much rather pay $10 as opposed to $100. Thoughts?

Depends whether you need the brand, or a competitor is likely to take the .com

I use .infos all the time for testing new niches - they do well in the serps.

I agree with Andy. Nearly all my sites are .info domain names, and they have not had any trouble ranking or getting traffic.

Andy's the man to listen to.... .info domains are just fine. Put up good content and get backlinks and they'll rank every bit as well as a .com. The only reason to worry is for branding purposes.

In fact, I would go so far as to say that a .info (or .biz, etc.) can even be BETTER than a .com if it's the only way to get your primary keywords into the domain name. That plays at least some role in SEO.

Keep in mind that .89 is for the first year and when you renew it will be full price.

I use them to experiment with but for something that has great kw and I want for long term I will grab the dot com if it is available.
