I ran across this and thought it was interesting.
It's a simplistic way to look at it and some Truth to it. Of course the devils are in the Details.

So when people try to figure out how to make a million dollars they have no idea
how daunting that is good you know how to make a million dollars you go make it

    now that's the wrong approach
if you apply your gift your god-given gift that he gave you
you have millions already at your disposal if you break it down inch by
inch anything that's it for the ten by ten theory which is very simple you
don't need a million-dollar do you need ten dollar idea
you need something that you do your gift that God gave you to make ten dollars
that's all you got to be a know if it's cutting hair cut somebody's grass

    people to their destinations

have some brain somebody hair you have something that you can do so well that
someone will give you ten dollars for write my paper for me
do this for me somebody give you ten dollars for once they give you ten dollars
all you got to do is whatever you did to get that team to a 10 more times
you know my friend at one hundred dollars
you have one down and one hundred dollars simply because you took a
ten-dollar idea and you did it ten times
well guess what if you take that one hundred dollars that you made since
you've done it 10 times and you do it 10 more times
I got news for you my friend you now have one thousand dollars $1,000 you
make a thousand dollars guess what are you got to do you got to multiply that
effort again- whatever you did to do a thousand dollars do it two more times my friend
you now have ten thousand dollars
you got ten thousand dollars now imagine if you was making the extra two thousand a month
just imagine if you was making an extra ten thousand dollars a month
that's a hundred twenty thousand dollars a year but i got news for you my friend

away from being a million that man because not you have you more people to
help you out that that you can do portions of what you do so you can
duplicate that effort and one more time just one more time and do it tender man
that sounds hard it is our but what else you got to do what you gonna stop at 200,000 all you gotta do is duplicate your efforts by tina you duplicate your office by ten ten times a hundred thousand
welcome to the club my friends you are now a million now
congratulations you became a millionaire with a ten-dollar idea so stop trying to stop bugging yourself down trying to figure out how to make a million do what you can do to make ten dollars and then do the 10 x TN theory inch by inch anything that tip cinch now here's the joyful part along the way when you was down here making 20,000 but your deer right here and now all of a sudden you making thirty thousand
now you making a hundred thousand but on the way to duplicate that times 10
you may stop along here and 250,000
you can make it a quarter of a million dollars a year that's way better than
that 20,000 you had when you started
so there's joy in the process your life is actually a lot richer and 2:50 it
will become even more richer and a half a million it becomes even richer than
that at three-quarters of a million seven hundred fifty thousand dollars if
you don't get to the mirror your man you're gonna trip cause you're making
now on our mouths a year now you gonna be happy
what you don't make the million so you want to make a seven-month pounds of you
you can find happens in some thousand dollars some wrong with you man
there's joy in the process that's how you make a million hours

The principle of scaling is important . . . but it also needs to be realistic and doable.

Let's take his example of mowing lawns or babysitting. How many lawns can be mowed in a lifetime? How many babysitting gigs can be done by one person? It wasn't until Mr. Harvey said you can make $100,000 that he suggested getting others to help. How many lawns mowed does it take to reach $100,000? 4,000 maybe. How many can you do in one season? In a lifetime?

If you want to follow Mr. Harvey's advice, I suggest you look for something you can do that leverages your time. I would also suggest you find something to sell that makes more than $10 profit/sale.

I'm not knocking his advice. In fact, looking at business as he is suggesting is a good start - find something you can do, apply yourself and do it over and over and over. Set goals and figure out how you can scale your sales beyond what you can do as one individual.

To me, this is exactly why Internet business is such a wonderful way to make money. It has nearly unlimited reach (global) and it allows you to do your work once and profit for a long, long time if you are smart and do it right. That's what we're here to learn, correct?

I was thinking the same thing and and partly disagreed until Harvey suggested getting help from others. Great video.

As usual Steve is spot on. I guess it is easy when you take a high priced Celebrity Entertainment job that Steve Harvey has and try to adapt to the everyday man.

Just a little unrealistic. Harvey should no better !!

Steve B already said it: The principle makes sense, but it has to be realistically scaleable.

Too many of the examples that he gave weren't scaleable without modification.

What you really need to do is find a way to PACKAGE your skill, into a form that makes you $10 PROFIT.

E.g. If a haircut takes you 20 minutes to do, and you need to do, and you're earning $10 for each one, you need to do 100,000 hair cuts.
    That's 2 MILLION minutes - or 3.8 years...

(If you never take out time to eat, sleep, or MARKET your hair-cutting skill)... Which ain't gonna happen.

However. If you come up with a special way of cutting hair, and you PACKAGE it into a video. It might take you a year to develop your video, and your technique, and another year to find marketing strategies that work... It might even take you 10 years.

But once you have the principle down, along with your package, you can scale it up.

The takeaway is: When your time is a "cost of doing business", you'd better be charging more than $10 for it if you wanna make a $1,000,000

You need to sale high ticket products to make big bucks with just few copies sale. And on the other hand you need to sale a lot of copies of low paying products to make equal to the above example. its that simple. Cheers!

I have a lot of time for Steve Harvey and his ideas. But this is a bit like Tim Ferris and the 4 hour working week. It only works for Steve & Tim! Go Figure!

I like Steve Harvey but making a million dollars cutting hair or cleaning cars is extremely hard. You can do it, but you need to employ a lot of staff to do that. A much easier way is to sell digital products and get affiliates to help you out... you can definitely do that million dollars then in a few short years... thoughts?

Is this video for retards or what?

So you make $10 per job and you do it 10 times to make $100, right? All sounds good.

However, to make a $1000, you would need to do it 100 times, correct? This guy talks like you make $100 per job and you just have to do it 10 times to have $1k...

I would need to wash 100000 cars for $10 each to become a millionaire. Doesn't sound too exciting, does it?

    Stevey Got a point here.

You obviously can't scale to doing physically something 100k times yourself, but you can always find a way to create a system that's automatic

    That's when you scale.

What I got from the video is not about making a million dollars but to make yourself a nice steady income by doing what you do best and doing it over and over again...
