Top Dog Warriors! Need your urgent help with this niche now! Oh... Please! :):)

hey guys!

i'm gonna keep this short and sweet!

i've come across this potential niche. ran some keyword research for a long tail keyword. searches per month is 3200.

there are a couple of google ads for this particular term.

the competition? pretty amazing. just 7 whopping pages!

now, from what i've read in some keyword research related books, they advice us to go after niches which have quite a few ads (shows greater willingness to of consumers to buy i guess). but this search term has just 2.

another thing. the top 10 results are practically dominated by retail outlet websites, and other sites along those lines. no web 2.0 stuff or ezine articles or whatever.

so the pros!

1) 3200 monthly searches
2) just 7 competing pages

the cons (i think they are at least!)

1) just 2 google adwords adverts.
2) no web 2.0/ezine articles/press releases/videos etc in the top 10 results.

so guys, should i go for this niche?

looking forward to your response!

thank you so much for your time!

cheers

prashant

I think you can get on the front page with ezinearticles especially, if it is really this narrowed down, competition wise! I mean god, if you had 50 articles up just on this thing, that would be a page in itself- and 7 pages... come on!

With only 7 competing pages, it wouldn't take much to get on the front page.

david, it's for an exact match.

products are ultra high end. so a small affiliate commission (in terms of percentage) would yield high results (potentially a thousand dollar commission per sale).

i did searches for extremely similar products. high searches (usually in the thousands), extremely low competition to dominate the page. so if this works out, i'm definitely expanding into the other similar products.

thanks for your input david. much appreciated.

    cheers

Is that 3200 for a broad match, phrase match or exact match search? If it's exact I would definitely investigate further.

The main thing you need to know now is will people BUY within this niche. Before spending hours, days or more getting your videos, web 2.0 ideas etc into the first page of Google why not try a few Google Ads - to test the response.

If that goes ok then try and dominate page one of Google...

    Hope that helps a bit?

    Best wishes - Dave

    Hey prashant

Snce the competition is so low, why don't you buy a new domain, get a Wordpress install in it, grab the plugins (all SEO etc etc) and do a test for a couple weeks?

I think, if you can spend more time with any other niches(keywords) which is queried about 15,000 per month (or more), That will be fine and you can get more from there than spending the same time for a keyword which is queried about 3,000 times per month.
