guard against a brute force attack

my site was compromised

i'm now getting sucuri alerts with something trying to login to my site -- hundreds of attempts every hour

theyre coming from different IPs

it's a wordpress site

1. what should i do?

2. do brute force attacks usually occur only on big sites (this is just my personal freelancer site -- so i'm wondering if its someone who has a personal grudge)

I think it's best to contact your host and discuss with them about the options you have now. then, try to find other solutions, too.

If your website is on wordpress CMS Then use some security plugins to block brute force attack. Wordfence is the best plugins to block brute force attack. i am also using it.

I agree 110% with using Wordfence - I have other security plugins installed as well but if I had to rely on one, it would certainly be Wordfence.
