Any tips for advertising on wearable technology (smartwatches)?

I have an enquiry from a client who wants to explore the idea of advertising on smartwatches.

Apart from reading about it, I've not come across having to do this as yet.

Any guidance out there for how to do this, costs, what works, character allowance and image allowances.. .also any recommendations for people that do it would be great.

    Does your client know anyone who wants to buy a smart watch that has the added capability of pushing ads into their face?

    Maybe I'm being shortsighted, but I, for one, don't need/want another device to advertise to me, and I certainly wouldn't pay for such a device.

      They are looking for some alternative options for advertising for young demographics and are looking into this idea, it's nothing really concrete however they are wondering what the costs are and how it is all done.

      Personally, I don't want anything I wear messaging ads and flashing up with anything however I guess it really depends on the user.

      There is so much available I will probably suggest a few digital marketing options first and see what he says.

      I think maybe in-app advertising could be a good option in any case.

    Is he introducing that wearable technology under the existing or a new brand name?

    The thing is that there is already a lot of competition for wearables technologies ( especially smartwatches). This makes the market in this particular niche very volatile and unpredictable.
    To succeed, your client's brand must have a unique persona e.g fitbit targets customers who have concerns about their health and fitness or Apple's watch with it's integrated iphone technology etc. What I'm trying to say is that your brand should be a stand out. Once you find that uniqueness , use it as your marketing theme.
