The most successful marketers are lone wolves or wolf pack types?

This is something I have always wanted to discuss with someone. But definitely not as a trick question you get at a job interview. Are you a team player? So, I remember when one of my friends said, I suck as a team player, but I'm great as a team leader.

I got an impression that IM strongly favors individualism. At the same time, this doesn't mean that you can achieve all that you have planned entirely on your own. You have to build a team to be truly successful, which gets us back where we started: a lone wolf marketer vs wolf pack type. I guess that a lone wolf marketer type is able to save his individualism within a group no matter how big or small it can be. On the other side, we have this pack types that simply can't work properly once they're left alone.

So, what do you think? I have this feeling, if we're to take only the numbers into account that the overwhelming majority of successful marketers are strong individual players. Yet, I also have to admit that I met some pretty successful SEO packs and similar. So, it would be interesting to see if IM is a solo player paradise or a mean machine team thing.

It's neither. If you can't work without someone telling you what to do - you may have a hard time.

If you have never worked a job where you had to show up and get something done to get paid....you could have a hard time.

If you need constant feedback - approval - admiration - of other people - you may have a problem motivating yourself to get something done.

Wolf packs work as a group - a strategy to help each other survive. That's called "networking" in business and works well online, too.

ANY business online or offline you start by yourself requires an ability to make decisions and work on your own. Many marketers end up building a team - some with partnerships and some by creating their own team of freelance workers for specific tasks.

Other marketers choose not to grow their business beyond a certain point - because working alone suits them. IM is the most flexible work you'll ever find - almost anyone can make some money online - most people fail because they get in their own way.

    just my opinion

It's both, different people work better in different situations.
At the same time, it's very difficult to success without networking and at least a small circle.

Guess, it's simply impossible to have a black/white situation here. Agree. Thx.
