How can you teach strategic people the importance of doing?

I am dealing with a potential client at the moment about to launch a new digital app, the problem is he is only big picture, he doesnt do anything.

One of the big quotes of todays WIP meeting was I am a strategic thinking person, everyone should know their areas and just do what they are good at The issue is, he hasnt told anyone what to do.

At this stage I haven't locked in the project officially, it is more of a test the waters type of thing but I have a gut feeling he is going to be a challenge to work with.

SOS - how should i go about getting on with this client.or is he too far gone and should we just walk away.

    I try to always listen to my gut. I have been caught out a few times over the years but generally people have good intentions. If your potential client can't give you enough information, even after asking, I would run as fast as you can, in any direction that is away from him. That's my 2 cents.

      I have a feeling that it will all go pear shaped - he is a big ideas kinda guy but if the project doesn't go the way he hopes, I do have a feeling that he will look to blame his foot soldiers.

      I am all for big ideas, but they have to be backed by people that know their stuff and know how to execute the concepts.

      He has some relly big brands he has launched and grown but I wonder how much leg work he has ever done and whether it is mostly people behind the scenes getting it all done.

      I'd love to find out more but I have a feeling it's probably a too hard basket case

    He is going to be a challenge to work with. You can either accept that challenge or move onto someone you have a better feeling with. The choice will be yours hehe
