well, depending on what you're using, you could use contactform7 for wordpress or EmailMeForm.com for a standard html page.

problem is that you'll have to manually send out emails until you can afford a system... and once you can, you'll have to have your imported contacts opt in (again) when you upload to aweber.

You could choose something like icontact and not have to have them opt in (I believe) later on down the road. I don't know much about icontact though...

I recommend waiting until you can afford Aweber. It´s difficult to import leads into a new autoresponder service because they need to optin again and you will lose some leads. You can also join Awebers affiliate program and earn some commissions first so you can pay for the service.

    I recommend this:

It's $1 for the first month and their pricing after that buries Aweber.

I second it. Moving from AWeber next month.

You don't want to go free because your AR will be your most valuable asset. Plus AWeber insures deliverability.

      I have to say...

At one point in time long long ago, I had to just go with whatever I could...but as a cautionary tale you miss out on a ton of profit potential once you get into a few thousand subs. My own estimate is at least $100,000 in revenue missed because my delivery rates were terrible, and I didn't have a relliable system for my followup series.

I have a script you can use if you have your own server. (PM I'll get you access to the members area.) It will get you started...but soon as you make some money go use a service.

You can always sublist your first list over time onto the new responder anyway to sort out your hottest prospects.

I can highly recommend icontact. They have a free 14 day trial so you can test things. Plus they were running a pretty good coupon a few weeks ago. I'll have to look it up, but depending on the size of your list that could get you a few months down the road before having to pony up real money.

I like icontact for several reasons:

    1. They let you control how your folks subscribe - single or double opt in.
    2. You can import your emails from other autoresponders - but they will keep an eye on you to make sure you are not spamming (import emails and get enough complaints and you are history)
    3. Their community has some serious link juice from Google. send an newsletter and publish to the community and Google may index it within the hour.
    4. Their editors suck - not something I like, but they are working on it. (hey you take the bad with the good)
    5. and in the spirit of full disclosure I like icontact because my wife works there and they take great care of their customers and their employees.

please let me know if I can help in any way.
    best,
    --Jack

ps you may want to google icontact and coupon as well.
