Why people ask "How much do you make online?"

Just my opinion but I think the biggest reason most people ask "How much do you make online is the Roger Bannister factor.

In 1954 Roger became the first human in recorded history to run a mile in 4 minutes. Before that no one could.

When people ask "How much do you make" they want to know what is possible, what is likely, and what is the upper limit. If the highest paid person make $400 a month they might not be interested in going forth with effort, but if they see that someone just like them is making $40,000 a month they get excited and start working hard.

Just like Roger Bannister breaking the 4 minute mile, marketers suddenly realize what is possible when they find out what others have done.

Most people really don't care what you make just to nose into your business. They want to know what is possible for themselves.

Lol you have a point. Thats also talked about a lot in reference to John reese's million dollar day. No one thought it could be done before him, now all the big names do that in all their launches.

If you want to make some quick friends, tell them $10 million and your ferrari's in the shop thats why youre driving your current car lol, maybe if that removes their limiting beliefs they will make some $ themselves.

I think there's also an element of trying to sniff out B.S. They hear all these big numbers being thrown around on sales pages and want to know if people are actually getting those kinds of results.

True too! I hadn't thought of that.

I have never asked that question, but if I were to ask it would be because I would want to see how many members here are making the kind of money that I want to make and how they are doing it. I agree with the sniffing out B.S. comment. I have seen alot of WSO that claim huge numbers, I buy them because the strategy looks promising and in hopes I can make a small percentage of the hundreds of thousands of dollars they claim you will make.

I feel that sometimes they just want to see how you will react to the question. The answer is almost irrelevant because they've likely heard the six-figure a month answer so often, and who knows who is being truthful with that.
