Picking the wrong niche or a problem in conversion?
Few years ago I started a blog in a small language based market. The topic (niche) was dating advice, since this was what I was interested in at that time.
Well recently I made a reality check, estimating the conversion and sales % per month and yes although there are some sales, the results were pathetic.
6463 total visits for the website for October (90% organic traffic) and 9 sales (7 of which are new acquired clients) which makes 0.14 % conversion ratio.
Opt in ratio = 62 opt-ins which is 0.91% of all traffic.
I'm embarrassed even saying these numbers. But anyway I can't progress if I deny the reality.
So what in your opinion is causing that and what is best to focus on improving?
From my perspective it falls in either one of 2 categories - either wrong niche for this market, either wrong conversion on the website.
So if its the second - what could be a good strategy for determining what elements in the conversion funnel are to be looked upon and fixed?
Thank you.
