Selling a continuity program through a feeder product...can it be done?

Hello All,

Thanks for looking at my topic.

I am planning on launching my second product pretty soon and I was wondering your thoughts on using a cheap entry ebook to warm the customer up to my continuity program.

These two products go well together. The first one is the how to guide($27 one time fee), the 2nd product is one that will automate all the steps I list in my how to guide - selling this software for $30-40/m.

My question is, how to position my continuity program.

Should I simply show my $27 ebook on the first page, then say something like 'customize order', take them to my 2nd page which will sell them on why they need to buy the $30/m software.

Or would it be better to:

Give the guide away free in exchange for signing up for my continuity program?

On the first page I could do something like: This product is free by simply committing to my software continuity program. We will give you get this course completely free and your first month of software usage will be on us. After that, you will be billed xx/m.

Just wondering if anyone has had any success dual launching two products like this?

Thanks!
-Dan

There's no way to answer definetely one way or the other. Test them both and see what happens.

That being said... You said the book outlines the steps that need to be taken and the software allows them to take those steps. You might want to try a version of a micro-contunity program where you give away the book and include the software membership as a bonus.

[Russell Brunson & Jimmy D. Brown teach this method. The gist is you give something away for free but have the customer pay the shipping. This does two things. It conditions the customer to pay and you get the CC info for the contunity program. They use a CD or DVD as the free item because they're cheap to produce and ship].

You could also sell the book as you previously planned and use an autoresponder sequence to sell the software.

It's hard to tell wha will work and what won't. Start with what you think will work best and Test, Test, Test.
