So we can learn to pick ourselves up.

This quote from the movie Batman Begins is so true. It can be applied to any situation in life, even business. In business we almost always fail in the beginning. But that just makes us smarter, wisers and stronger the next time round.

So to all the newbies who are struggling to make their first dollar online, don't give up, learn from your mistakes, everyone makes them. Don't be put of by failure, instead learn from it and take another shot at succeeding, then another, then another.

Force yourself to success. It's possible.

I've done it, so can you.

Thanks,
Adam

      Thanks Aloha,

I've been doing internet marketing for many years now, it took me about about a year to get a grasp of it. And then a few more years to get good at it. I'm still learning.

I started making substantial income about a year after I started. I started with selling stuff on eBay, didn't do well in the beginning but got better and stated to make good money. After that I went into affiliate marketing which led to wanting to create my own products. I now have a few of my own products and websites which are doing well.

      Hope that helps.

Success with an online business is not a one shot deal.

    It's an ongoing process.

You must not be afraid to test a product, site, traffic tactic etc. and adopt the attitude of a Jr. scientist.

I like the quote from Rocky Balboa:

"it ain't about how hard ya hit. It's about how hard you can get it and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!"

.....although in IM, hitting hard does help things move along quicker....i.e. taking ACTION!

I believe the following quote was from the time that Thomas Edison was trying to find a good practical material for the filaments in the light bulb....

I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.
    Thomas A. Edison

THAT'S the attitude to take, learn from the things that don't work and KEEP pushing forward. I've had plans that didn't work, but I haven't classified things as a failure!

And this quote from Edison seems appropriate too...
Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.

Thanks for the inspiring piece of words. For newbies out there who are just starting out in online money-making endeavors, not being warned or told beforehand on what to expect is the problem they face.

No problem. We all need a bit of inspiration now and then.

Every word on this thread is true. Each and every one of us has missed the target a few times but what sets successful people apart from those less successful is the ability to learn from their mistakes, pick themselves up and start again.

The beauty about IM is that you don't have to risk a large amount of money to find what works (unlike a 'conventional' business). Also, you can see the results of testing your copy/site/traffic generation technique really quickly so if something doesn't work, change it.

Don't get disheartened too easily. Millions of people make money online - there's no reason that you can't too.

    Here's one of my favorites...

"The job now is to turn this around and make it into something positive. My dad always told me that's the only way you deal with pain; you don't surrender, you don't fight it, you turn it into something positive. He used to say: 'If you are falling off a cliff, you may as well try to fly. You've got nothing to lose.'"
