Big Money in Selling to Retailers?

by Steve Robertson 2 replies
Hello Warriors,

Most internet marketing techniques involve selling products to individuals. To be really successful, you need a huge list. Or a group of JVs. Or become an expert at PPC. But, if you can come up with a good product to sell to retailers, you have the possibility of selling hundreds or thousands of your product in one order.

I think I've found a type of product that would be a good one for serious internet marketers to try selling to retailers. Even large retail chains.

Has anybody had experience with selling to retailers? Anything we should look out for that we might not think about going in?

Thanks,
Steve R.

Many years ago I worked for a laptop company that appraoched major UK chain stores to sell the laptops. Pretty much all large chain stores have a buying department. You need to be bright and interesting for them to offer you an appointment. If you get this far you'll get 30 minutes to an hour to sell them your product. It's not an easy road and can involve lots of following up just to try and secure an appointment. Of course rewards can be high.
    Good luck

      Hi Rich,

I understand that much of this type of selling is handled by independent sales reps who specialize in selling to large retailers. It seems like the typical internet marketer might be able to accomplish more by seeking out a good independent rep and persuading him or her to represent your product.

      What do you folks think?
