kindle book- help please

Well,
I know that after uploading a kindle book to amazon, I have a week to make it a best seller, otherwise it gets "los" in amazon tons of kindle books.

So my question- how can I fix it? assuming I uploaded a kindle book and didn't make it a best seller in a week- how can I make it a best seller?
Can I re-launch it?

Would love to know if any of you had this kind of situation and how did you fix it.

    Have you tired promoting it on different websites relating to your books niche

    The people I know that can easily get Kindle books in the top sellers lists have lists of their own of people who have purchased or read their books.

    They maintain contact (and a relationship) with these people and alert them when a new book is being released. They give them the eBook for free and ask them to review it.
