How are handling Payments?

Hi everyone, as many of you may know, I have been working as a Freelancer for several months, with a significant success so far (last month, I made almost 2000 usd).

One big issue Ive been having since I started working are the payments, they have really been quite a problem, for two reasons:

First, I havent found a system that works fine for me, Im mainly using Payoneer and Paypal for getting payments, but both of them have their own issues. Payoneer is quite complicated to use for getting C2C payments, and Paypal kills a lot of my earnings with its taxes.

And second, none of those systems have allowed me to automatize my payments, I spend a lot of time every month sending invoices and organizing my payments, If I could find a system that could do all of this automatically, I could use that time for working.

You are not going to find many services that don't take out their charges. The other big ones is Stripe but isn't as widely available as Paypal. I also have no problem automating payments with Skype. You can create payment links for anything you are creating invoices for now.

If you have a certain package which clients are buying every month, you can create paypal buttons for it on your website where they can order every time.

There is no way around these taxes but its also justified to pay little to them also, These payment processors are enabling you to earn money as people trust them and use them so they deserve some credit for that

Well if you sell a service that companies hire for many months you could create a paypal subscription or recurring payments.

Why don't you set up a cloud-based accounting system - I use a program called Xero and it is $50 per month however it automates everything, gets live feeds from my accounts and helps me to reconcile everything.

Paypal isn't going to do that for you and if you want a good starting point maybe look at Freshbooks, I think they have automatic billing that is recurring.

To make your systems work for you it is important to figure out what is taking time and streamlining this by setting up a system that saves you a few hours a month, if it costs $50 per month or so isn't it worth it.

Free your time up for working, not doing billing.
