How do Psychics market and make money?

This is a different question than my original one. I want to know how Psychics do marketing, see, and making money on an online business in general. How do they market themselves? SEO? I want to know because how do the people like psychicbunny, blondey, psychicleonara etc on fiver do it? do they put a lot of money in their marketing and how

The main board is for discussing how to make money , I would delete this and try the mind spirit sub forum , but it does look like the same question just in a different way!

The marketing techniques used by the most successful psychics are not significantly different from any other product or service. There is a broad segment of the population that is receptive to this type of service and/or related products.

Aside from having the unique advantage of knowing exactly when and where their target audience hangs out online so as to advertise in those very places at exactly the right time their prospects are looking for their services -- I'm stumped.

    >> Seriously, that's what I think they do, or at least ones who are earning good money, and that's also what I think any other product seller or service provider should do.

    >> So, what I think they initially do (or should do) is identify the online places (or even offline, like specialist magazines) where their target audience hangs out. This can be relevant niche sites like wildly popular horoscope and astrology niche sites and blogs, Web forums and social communities like Facebook groups where a lot of their target prospects spend time in, find out the exact match keywords they're using in Google, etc. - I'm sure you got my point.

    >> Then, I think they check those places out to verify if there are any content placement and advertising opportunities for them there.

    >> Some of them might also have partnership deals with laterally relevant, non-competing niche sites, blogs and social communities, i.e. Bizarre news sites, UFO content sites, paranormal and alien-type blogs and forums, etc.

    * Then again, that's just me, and I'm no psychic.

    * A more pressing problem that I believe most of them encounter is a payment processor to use, but thanks to bitcoins -- They now have options, as long as they find some places where they can point their customers to safely and conveniently buy bitcoins ...

no this is the norm on here this post is not this warrior follows a false person and then before asked a question just like the one here and was moved to the OT so this should follow

Wrong again. The other thread by the OP also started off with a legitimate marketing question, but was derailed by ignorance and silliness. Serious money is being made in this industry, much more than most of the silly schemes promoted by your "gurus".

Looks like you've got a big job ahead of you. Track down and point out for us all of the threads that rip people off, and get them moved over to the OT forum. Your crusade is valiant.

It's really too big of a market to give specific advice.

It would depend if we were talking about your mom and pop tea leaves job, the theatre touring shows or the psychic hotlines.

Which did you have in mind?

The op's first question was something along the lines of do psychics make money? I think rightly that was moved.

This question is about marketing and making money and that's surely what this forum is about. We might not like the niche but that irrelevant.

Hopefully the op's next post is how can I promote my psychic business for free followed by a WSO on how to make a million telling fortunes. At least then they'll be on par with the majority of posters on here.

Absolutely. The marketing methods being used by this industry are no different from any other business.

Even a simple classified ad in newspapers and tabloids (ie "Psychic Advisor" with phone and website) can draw substantial traffic.

    • I am not at all knowledgeable in marketing psychic services.

I know for sure that you can make a great deal of money with psychic services but I would strongly advise against getting into this industry in anyway.

I am a very open minded guy and I have seen compelling evidence that psychic powers are real. produced such compelling results that he worked as a "psychic spy" for the US military for many years.

However, 99.9% of psychic services are total BS

The question to consider is if you really want to be involved in an industry where you take peoples money and give them back false and misleading information???

There is no need to give false or misleading information to make money in this industry. Providing balanced information to the emotionally charged (ie pulling in money from both sides of the argument) has been my MO for the past 20 years. This technique works in any niche which has polarizing properties or high brand loyalties.

I've seen people approach this market 2 ways:

          1. They join a website dedicated to providing psychics to those who seek them. (Not 5er - a psychic site). They offer their services for $X per minute, and the website takes a cut. They do have repeat clients, but they are very dependent on the website to make payouts, do the marketing, etc.

          2. They are independent, and they handle marketing like you do for any other niche: set up a website, build a list, post on social media, grow your following, etc. Some add different types of readings: Skype, email, etc. Some create products to sell, as well.

          Hope this helps.

I spent a fair amount of time analyzing this market this past year for a client who does astrology readings and has been doing so for years.

He actually has a few books he sells (that he wrote) on his website, and he has regular clientele which purchase different packages from him and he does regular personalized updates for them.

The best funnel I saw/found was through youtube - hands down.

General astrology/tarot card readings - and then you can get a more personalized reading by contacting that vendor.

It works well as there are always new readings every month and if you go by all the zodiac signs that means everyone can do a good 12 videos every month to target every sign.

The really good marketers are not shy about discussing their current "deal" at the beginning of their videos.

Some have been doing advanced paid for on youtube videos as well.

Some of the card readers don't even show their faces. They don't have to.

Many of the better ones give a good 20 minute or longer video PER SIGN.

Whether or not you agree with the "product" itself, the methods used to sell these services are quite solid and a good lesson for all marketers IMO.

It's really not necessary to be a "REAL" psychic to build a sustainable business in this industry.

There is a huge demand for metaphysical products by psychic wannabes as well as more "objective" resources to fuel the fiery debate on both sides.

For example, Amazon has books, products, and supplies to either promote or debunk the most avid psychic adherents.

You keep missing out on essential marketing lessons to be learned from psychic marketing phenomenon, which is nearly identical to the processes used in politics, religion, and other arenas of intense competition, controversy, and emotional impact. Tapping into the depths of passion is the most powerful marketing technique - bar none.

The problem you're having is you are looking at only one side. Marketing techniques themselves are amoral or neutral. There is nothing wrong with the marketing methods per se within the psychic industry (or even MMO which has its own quite similar issues).

I've been marketing in the psychic arena for nearly 20 years (in addition to UFOS, paranormal, pseodoscience, politics, and other divisive topics) without ripping people off with these methods.

I totally agree with you on that point, but this thread was about the extremely effective marketing methods being used in those arenas.

The real shame is that these marketing lessons keep getting lost in the uproar of raucous sidetracking and near insanity of reflexive judgment calls.

Bloggers, email writers, script writers and copy writers could learn a lot from the psychic industry.

The basics of the reading are perfect for sales, every miss is a hit if you reframe your speech. Barnum statements and the rainbow ruse are techniques easy to adapt into sales.

Then there is the biggest trigger of all:

You are special you're destined for great things but you can feel your destiny slipping away. The thing is deep down you know you can do if just someone would give you the chance.

It's a struggle sometimes though and it feels like the world is against but'x' wants you to know that they have faith in you. You need to invest in yourself and when you do you'll unlock this new path your friends and family will say your mad but you know, you know, you know that this is meant to be this is the you that you were meant to be.

Are you ready to manifest your destiny?

Exactly. Heck, if *I* were a psychic, I wouldn't even bother about stupid things like marketing methods - I'd simply use my psychic powers to predict winning lottery numbers and win every single jackpot.

Lol! That's an even better idea.

Just goes to show this whole "psychic" thing is a scam. I think they get around the legal part by classifying it as "entertainment."

Actually, threads such this one demonstrate the extraordinary amount of interest in the paranormal. You may not believe it, but more than 40% of the population do, and another roughly 20-30% are unsure or borderline. These are huge numbers of marketing to simply dismiss. You don't need to be psychic to see the profit potential.

My ex GF's mom was one of those, she mainly used Periscope and live streams to grow it. any kind of business can be promoted via word of mouth, advertising (FB, google, youtube ads etc), and posts on popular blogs or forums. The real challenge is getting started, and sticking to it!

    best of luck

    Hey Shellie,

Ive actually done some minor digging into this niche helping a family members friend who was into the whole medium, psychic niche.

    A. I would target the 100k's of people that are subscribed to newsletters, apps, etc related to horoscopes

    B. LinkedIn actually has some decent size groups for people interested in knowing thier future and specifically psyhics where you could network, make friends and teach them how to hold webinars, summits, etc.

    C. As for generating traffic when it comes to promoting a service such as telling the future... Id create a report about how to not get fooled by fake psychics, maybe its a story of how someone who didnt believe but now believes, maybe it teaches the NLP tactics used to make you think they know what they are talking about..

AND THEN,you can, in that report... Promote your service which you guarantee is the real deal... To the point you will do the first call for free.

Other than that, Im a huge believer, and only becoming more and more of a believer in... Create killer content, build your tribe (aka eyeballs)... And then you can monetize those eyeballs through ads, etc. AND by selling your services. BUT the content CAN be promoted without as many probelms

Hope that helps and made sense.

    ~Kevin

    the good ones.

    1) paid for traffic

    2) generate daily leads

    3) Sales funnel.

but then again, this is what I do, and many other very good marketers, It does not matter the niche, its your strategy.

The really good psychics I actually opted in to spy on their sales funnel, and messages, one even had tailored messages to me and my name. Quite genious. I am sure their conversion rates are through the roof.

    i imagine like most marketers

they get leads with a lead magnet "learn what your star sign is trying to tell you!"

and ,, , they sell them on a "reading" later down the line..

They foresee the future of marketing and know marketing tactics we can only salivate over No but seriously, I see this whole Fiverr psychic thing to be a mix of baloney, an online fad that people promote online that it's now a 'thing' (see mermaid tails and mermaid merch nonsense) and good ole fashioned word of mouth from happy customers aka "believers"

"The question to consider is if you really want to be involved in an industry where you take peoples money and give them back false and misleading information???"

isn't that what every industry does???

Every industry indeed has its scammers, but this is a short-lived foundation for business. There may also be legal implications, for example with the FTC and other industry-specific regulatory agencies.

I would say that it is not too different from any other marketing any product or service. The same principles will apply. You just need to understand your service and audience and figure out how these principles will apply to you. Best of luck with it.

This particular industry has an intense and very specific attraction, as we can see from this thread and ongoing intetest in the other one by the OP which was moved to the OT forum.

Laden with rather explosively emotional context, it can drive massive quantities of traffic. You need to understand your traffic as well as the emotional triggers of your targeted audience.

  • If they are a good psychic, you don't call them, they call you.

Because they know that you need their help, and so they don't have to do marketing.

ive noticed that if you sign up to some of the psychics list.... they do use that voodoo
and guess things about you in their email.

It really gets people in too....

People would think ....holy chet, how did they know I had a shed in my backyard and a DOG...wow!, they really must be psychic. LOL.

But when you think of it the software and the email marketing side of things, is already set up for them. And alot of good psychic sites, have email marketing stuff set up for specific dates, and birthdays, and all sorts of things to get people to buy.

But getting back to their predictions, about a shed and a dog. How many people in a USA actually living right now, do have a SHED in the backyard and a DOG. So these guys in my opinion are not GOOD PSYCHICS....i do not believe people can tell the future. I only think, these guys are good at email marketing. When you see what software they are running, im sure sales are going quite well for the top 3-4 of these guys.
