Hello,

I added an affiliate to my personal blog and I was wondering if I need a terms of service because of the affiliate links?

I don't collect any info from visitors or no one subscribe to anything yet.

  • Sure you need it...
You can write down whatever you want but it's a good impact when it comes to site reputation.

I'll need to do some research then because right now I don't know what my terms of service would be about.

Thank you for the reply impossibleisnothing,

  • You're more than welcome.
Better if you hire a writer on $2 and leave it on him/her.
    Simpler is better !

Yeah I would definitely recommend it. If you are unsure as to how to go about this you can could hire a freelancer with experience on freelancer.com or some such platform. It should be quite cheap as they are generally small jobs.

    Thanks everyone!

I did a search on terms of service and privacy policy and I found a company called RocketLawer.

    https://www.rocketlawyer.com/

They have a 7 day FREE trial and with it I was able to download the 2 documents.

Not really. Maybe if you're putting up a google ad as it will increase your quality score but other than that not really necessary.

Julio, if all you have on your blog are affiliate links, you just need to include an affiliate disclosure or disclaimer. You can add one on the footer of each page, or link to a disclaimer elsewhere on your site.

You'll find examples of how to word them here: sample-affiliate-disclaimer-statements/

Better be safe than risk it. You should add one, you can also google "tos generator" if you feel uneasy writing one yourself.

We normally place a terms of service on our blogs. It helps with SEO, and it makes us look more professional. It also helps with your own security and makes users feel more at ease.
