Legal Registration Of Your Online Business In Different Coutries

Hi guys.

I wanna make a quick poll-like thread about what it takes in your country to legaly register and set-up online business, like internet marketing or similar.

Let me explain what I mean.

I live in Ukraine and here we have smth called "simplified taxing". All you need to do, is to register as "private enterprenuer" and make monthly payments (It's about 25 $.) Yea, it's f**ng CHEAP. If you work alone nobody cares much about what you do specifically (technically they do, but complicated stuff begins when you register a company, hire stuff etc. - in this case you need license and so on).

If you didn't do that, tax guys will watch you if your monthly income grow up to 3 000 $, since they could find your real income by checking your ID code anyway.

So I've very interested what it takes to legaly set up your home-based small business and be in click with tax system in your country.

If you could manege to do this illigally - you can PM me if you're afraid that your government agents found out about your reputation

Ok I'm joking.

As far as I know, in many civilized countries like US and Australia it is much harder to set up this kind of business in terms of dealing with FTC and tax system. Also what about mendatory licensing?

Look, here in Ukraine I have a small business in dating advice niche... so it's hard to imagine that your govermaent will try to demand some kind of license on such activity.

For example, as far as I know Eben Pegan have his infamous Double Your Dating company registered like entertainment business - probably for some very distinct reason.

Or if you have a small business project in internet marketing niche, what is the prosess to register such monetary activity with your government?

If you jump from niche to niche? How does your taxing instintutions look at your business?

Lets say someone is not a citizen, but a permanent resident of your country? Could he/she do some lagel online small business in your country?

I guess that this situation will be heavily depend on the fact what type of "world"-country you live in.

Is it's "third-world" like Ukraine or India, it probably be very different then if it is US or Australia.

Please, reply only if you are ACTUALLY HAVE active online business.

The reason I'm asking all that is that I want to immigrate to some more ecologicaly-stable country where I could just do my thing (territory-independent small business), pay my taxes and live with my girlfriend/wife.

I have everything for being happy except terrible ecology. I want to move.

In the USA, there isn't just rule to follow to set up a business.

Along with the big decisions, like whether you will be an LLC, S-Corp, etc., you also must deal with the local authorities.

And, usually, it doesn't matter if your site is online or offline -- you must jump through the proper hoops based on where you conduct business. If your office is in a certain town, that means you conduct business there, even though your business is online, if that makes sense.

Sometimes you will run into requiring a city business license, plus a business license from the county your city is in, plus you may need a tax ID number from the state.

I've heard a lot of people say, "I'm not going to get a city business license. What can they possibly do to me? I don't have a store in this city. I have a business online, so it doesn't count."
