eCommerce or Affiliate Marketing Which is more Profitable?

eCommerce seems to be the buzz-word nowadays all around the world. Affiliate Marketing have made me thousands of dollars over the past 6 years. However i have just began wetting my feet in the e-commerce sector and it give me great pride to have set-up my own e-commerce business using shopify. I am thinking of
scaling down my affiliate marketing projects and concentrate on building my own
e-commerce business where the rewards seems to be greater. What do you guys think?

why not do both? Automate your affiliate marketing business as much as possible and move on to eCommerce via a reputable source and course.

Trust it is me it is not as easy as you put it. Both are time consuming and i like to be hands-on in anything i am doing. Oh i forgot to mention, affiliate market is not my full time job so time is the essence. Any more thoughts on this matter from the warrior forum members?

It's e-commerce for me but I appreciate that its not for everyone.

With e-commerce you make more but you generally have to spend more, take more time and deal with more issues. On the flip side to investing in sales you need customer service and complaints handling in place. You also need to be aware of legal issues that can have an impact on your business.

One of the biggest considerations for an e-commerce business is cash flow. Being successful can have a big detriment on your business.

On the flip side I found that I make more money and have more control.

You are asking one of those questions that has no right answer. Some will say one is more profitable, others will totally disagree.

What is most profitable for one may be a complete bust for someone else that has a different set of skills, motivations, talents, and abilities.

Not only that, but there is a great wide variance within each of these profit strategies regarding how one might conduct them or set up a system within them. So it seems to me that asking such a general question is only going to generate general answers that will depend upon one's own experience which may be limited to a specific poorly executed system that wouldn't work for anyone!

I do both, and both are extremely profitable. AM teaches you advertising which you can integrate with your own ecom business. Driving paid traffic to your own store can make you millions.

Thats like asking if apples or pairs taste better.

I prefer eCommerce, but just because I made way more money with it. In fact though, I used affiliate marketing in order to be successful in eCommerce as well (my biggest store with more than $200,000 in sales relied to more than 70% on affiliate partnerships.)

E-commerce is WAY more profitable, but requires WAY more work so I guess it depends on what you're looking to get out of it.

E-commerce is also much more scalable and you have more control than affiliate marketing.

For me, affiliate marketing is a lot easier because it's based on mailing to a list. There are a lot more moving parts to ecomm. Having said that, ecomm is a longer term business model.

Do both. eCommerce & Affiliate marketing are more powerful sources for revenue generation in current world. So try both. but oftenly few platforms offering both the services at a time. For example you can consider Boomer Marketing App to do ecommerce for business like creating website , uploading products , order management etc and at the same time they are offering affiliate/resellers model where you can register yourself as an reseller and get rewarded for each and every unique referral your drive to website.

Affiliate marketing has huge competition and you need some reputation before start promoting other products. it's not quite easy to do in short and all it takes lot of budget & time. so why can't you do both to. Sell products & refer the service to get attractive commissions.

you can learn more details about affiliate/reseller marketing on Boomer Marketing App - Reseller Program

I've debated this myself all year as a new marketer.
I would only do ecomm now if:
    1. China wasn't involved
    2. My products would be unique, possibly custom made
    3. $10+ margin

--Keep in mind, if you are in the USA there is a real possibility that trump could put import tariffs on Chinese goods.

I'm here to learn more about affiliate marketing

    It depends.

It depends on your objectives. It depends on your skill set. It depends on your risk profile.

Personally I made only a small amount of money using the affiliate approach. However I run a large, successful, 6 figures plus a month ecommerce business (after a lot of hard work).

Whatever path you choose, good luck with your ventures.

You mention that e-commerce is all the buzz now--is that they main reason why your a switching.

    If so, why?

I mean, you mention that affiliate marketing has made you thousands, so why move away from something that is working.

I would rather see you scale up your affiliate marketing--or put together a course on how you have made that money, and sell it here.

    Hope this Helps.

The thing is Affiliate marketing has become extremely competitive and e-commerce is not yet saturated as yet, as a result there is plenty of money to be made.

Personally for me, I would say that's super subjective for each person. It's hard to say without knowing the person's skills, so I think both could be equally as profitable but it really depends on the person and what they're capable of.

In this case, I don't think its about the vehicle, its about the person and how they execute
